I wanted to really like this, and it turns out it worked better than I had hoped!!I hadn't really done much to my turn for 3 years. After this long it was looking pretty matted with kids playing soccer on it for a few years I wasn't sure what to do. I tried raking and using a broom, but wasn't powerful enough to lift up the turf. This machine was a game changer! I actually tried all the different height settings, but settled on the lowest setting to really fluff up the turf and to loosen up mulch that had pushed into the turf. I don't have a huge yard, probably about 3k sq ft and I was pretty methodical and slow about it, so it took me 2.5 hours and got 2 bags full of junk out of the turf. Honestly my turf looks like new now. I highly recommend this machine!

I've only used this Greensweeper once but my backyard turf was totally covered with tiny leaves and fallen buds, all from the adjacent person's backyard six huge trees. Just as many people in these reviews have said, it tends to only work for half of the debris going forward, but it collects the remaining leaves when going backwards. I've decided that this is because when you are going forward, the collection brush is turning in the same direction, so as it encounters leaves and debris, it first pushes them into the turf as the brush passes over them and then flicks the leaves that did not stay embedded into the turf into the collection basket. But, when you do a strip of turf BACKWARDS the 1st time, then the brush is going the opposite direction underneath compared to the direction that you are going, so it simply flicks the leaves into the collection basket as it encounters them, and the leaves do not go under the brush so it clears them all off of the turf in the 1st try. My solution is that I'm going to try to connect the handle to facing the opposite side so that as I go forward and encounter the leaves, it simply will flick them into the collection basket (now in front of the machine) without 1st pushing the leaves into the turf before trying to clear the turf of debris. If this works and they start having people install the handle on the opposite side of the machine, then I want a cut of the profit for figuring out the solution. If it doesn't work then I will delete this review so as not to lead others astray. But in theory I think it will work if I can just somehow connect the handle to the opposite side of the machine. One other helpful tidbit. I spoke to a worker at a company who uses these often for clearing other people's turf yards for his job. I was told that if you don't leave the machine at the higher settings (4 or 5),then it will suck lots of sand out of the turf, which would have to be replaced afterwards with a fertilizer (which they used to do before they tried putting them at a higher setting). That's it.

This is a lifesaver! I use it in our huge turf area and it gets the “grass” clean and fluffed up!

I bought one of these in April, used it a total of ten hours and it quit working.The motor would get hot and shut down after about ten minutes of using it, and then I would have to wait thirty minutes to let it cool down before I could use the machine again.It is a piece of junk, do not waste your money. I have contacted their customer service department via email a total of five times and never did get a response on how the warranty is taken care of.

I was considering a manual walk-behind sweeper before I got this, and boy am I glad I got the clean sweep.This is a small section of turf, 20ft x 30ft, infilled with sand (not rubber pellets). It’s directly under a huge Coastal Live Oak tree, here in California. The pitch is constantly covered in the small but curved and pointy Live Oak leaves, small twigs, branches, acorns and acorn hats, pollen.This thing does a great job. It’s not perfect, but for my application, definitely the best option out there. Usually only takes a single pass and viola! It’s nearly pristine. I run mine on the second-from-top height setting, and it has I believe 2 more lower settings than that. It’s so effective at picking everything up, that I have to empty the bag every couple passes, which is fine for me! I believe the review about debris falling back out may be due to not emptying the bag, or using too low of a setting. I have seen this issue when I forget to empty the bag.I was worried at the price point that it may be overkill for our small 600sq.ft. Space, but it’s perfect. It takes about 30mins but is so effective, I don’t need to do it very often.I’m not sure how it would handle things like big maple leafs, pine needles, or rubber pellets. The unit is mostly plastic, so I don’t recommend storing the unit in sunlight. I bought a cheap, tiny $100 metal shed from Overstock.com or something. It should be noted that the brushes do not extend the full with of the wheels. They are not inset. It also can’t sweep about 1” in from each side of the housing. So if you have turf directly up to a wall, there will be about a 3” untouched section. For my soccer pitch, there’s a border of dirt at least 6” around 2 of the 4 sides, so I simply do another pass with the wheels in the dirt. The unit is also a bit loud. I keep a cheap pair of earmuffs on the handlebar. Also this is a corded unit, which is needed to get the power required, so a slight annoyance.If your turf area is like mine, and have similar needs, I highly recommend the CleanSwerp!
