Perfect Size for Bottles
I am using these candles in wine bottle centerpieces and they are the perfect size. Not to wide, not too thin. Some of the bases I have to melt slightly over another candle to get them to stay upright, but that's too be expected, however even on a couple they go in just the right amount to stand up straight. Was worried they might be too thin, but all the other candles I had tried were way too thick. I've tested a couple and haven't had an issue with wax dripping, although, I wouldn't mind if it did, I think that's pretty on wine bottles. At any rate, very happy with these and would recommend.UPDATE: After my event, here's what happened. A couple of the wine bottle mouths were too wide for these candles. Fortunately I had extras and quickly swapped them out and the candles, again, were a great fit. However, with respect to the candle wax dripping, they did drip A LOT! But, it was because my venue was outdoors. If the candles were not perfectly straight (and for the most part, even if they were) they dripped like crazy. This was mostly due to the slight breeze that was coming through the party as well. It was actually quite beautiful, however, this caused them to burn EXTREMELY fast. I lit them about 30 minutes before guests were arriving and had to blow them out after about 15 minutes because I was afraid they wouldn't last. Once everyone arrived I relit them and they maybe lasted an hour. But, I had also set some up indoors in the bathroom, just to keep the theme, and those did not drip an ounce of wax and could have kept burning all night. So, basically, outdoors, better be a quick party. Fortunately I also had votives on the tables and those kept the ambiance. No one noticed or cared that the candles burnt out quickly and I got so many compliments on the overall look of things. I would still recommend these candles, but just know that there is definitely environmental criteria at play with how successful they'll be.

Good value everyday candles
The size is slightly smaller than the advertised 6 inches, it is actually 5.75 inches. I have observed no dripping so far. The total burning time is closer to 4 hours than 5. The candles are similar to decent emergency candles I used to buy. Overall they are a good value, although the burning time is a little short for my taste. The texture is softer than other candles I have purchased before, and they don't break when you push them down onto the pin of the candleholder. My preference is for a 8-inch candle that would last 2 or 3 hours longer, but since I am not able to find it at an affordable price, these are a good compromise. Shipping was surprisingly fast (came in next day which was a Sunday even though I have 2-day as my default) - just mention this as a FYI as the 4-star rating is solely product-driven.

Placing second order now--finally found the everyday candles we need
Update November 2013--I think I will order two boxes this time. I got scared reading about the hackers out there that could shut down our country's electric power grids that are governed by computers. Surely two boxes of these would hold us over till all that massive system gets fixed.ALSO great feature of these candles--we live in a very hot part of the US. When we go on vacation and don't have the a.c. cranked as high as normal, these candles do not melt out of shape or melt into each other. They always hold their shape. We love them. From long ago, still true:We use candles every morning to usher in the day with quiet light, while looking out at our birds at the bird feeder. We struggled to find candles that didn't spit wax all over the coffee table; that didn't make us sneeze from heavy scents; and that didn't cost an arm and a leg. These candles, made in Belgium, are high quality and AFFORDABLE for people like ourselves who use them every day. And being tapers instead of fat, round candles, there is no wasted wax or flame that disappears way down inside a cylinder. My favorite part is that they fit in our wine-bottle holders with no need to carve the ends down to fit.

Not quite Partylite
Not quite Party light quality. But, since they stopped selling a candle that fit my lamp, these work. If you're burning them in a lamp, you will get the amount of time listed - at least. Several reviews talk about them burning down quickly - which they will do, if you burn them out in the open (a typical use would be in some type of memorial service, or as a luminary).

Great deal for utility candles
They do seem to take about five hours to burn, and they burn all the way down. There is some wax melt usually left on the table where I have the candlestick after using one, but it is in a rustic spot, and might have as much to do with the candle stick choice as anything, so it doesn't really bother me. The candle stick is tall on its own, so six inch candles are a good fit for the look. I would definitely buy them again.

They worked . . .
We bought these for an outdoor wedding reception. They were cheap. They looked great. (We used some tinfoil to get them to fit in many of the holders--the candles are kind of thin.) They DID drip and they didn't last anywhere near 5 hours. That said. We didn't care. :-) It was a rustic wedding and they looked great. They weren't the only light source. They were cheap and they were delivered to my door in two days. :-) I wouldn't use them on nice furniture. I would buy them again under the same circumstances.

Fairly good for the price
I use a lot of candles--partly because they warm up a chilly room both with light and heat. These are very reasonably priced. Two minor issues: they don't burn for 5 hours, but more like 3.5 and they are slightly smaller than standard size so you need melted wax to set them. Otherwise, I am on my third box of 72 for this winter--that tells you something!

Nice candles -- straight sides
The word "taper" may be misleading, as most standard thin candles are, in fact, tapered. These are exactly as pictured, 3/4 inch thick with straight sides. These are what I think of as "utility candles," which is exactly what I was looking for. They fit perfectly in my spring-loaded Partylite brand candle lantern, probably also in what are called chace candles, and are also just right in Shabbat candle holders. So I expect they would be a bit loose in a candle holder for standard dinner candles. Maybe you could use candle adhesive to hold them. These are a good value and hard to find in stores, if they are what you need.
