Correction
The other reviewers are RIGHT ON! to say (in so many words) that this album is truly a masterpiece. I think E.A. Poe would have approved of his poetry being put to music such as this (i.e. "Anabelle Lee")! And if your rational side didn't bring you to the realization of how insane the Vietnam war was, "Saigon Bride" would surely make your emotional side realize it. The depth of feeling of this album is incredible! However as a side note, one reviewer's comment that Pete Seeger was a member of the group Peter, Paul and Mary is incorrect. It's true that they made a hit with Seeger's "If I Had a Hammer" (see [...]) but he wasn't actually a member of their group. That was another Peter.

Replacing an old vinyl album
I saw Joan in concert at UCLA in Dec 1967, and bought this album shortly after. I was very happy to replace it nearly 50 years later.

One of my favorite albums as a teenager in the 1960's and it is still one of my favorite albums as a grownup in 2015.

Wonderful find
Wonderful songs, great quality recording. These early years, as recorded reflect what we heard in live performances. I think most people will enjoy these songs, her voice and the arrangements are quite beautiful.this

Nostalgia fest
Bought this as I had the vinyl LP in the early 70's and remembered how good it was. JB at her most varied and lyrical.
