Cabinet locks child

Our cats have a bad habit of trying to open our cabinet doors, but being cats they don't really understand the concept, so the result is a continuous slamming of cabinet doors that never got fully opened. I searched long and hard, and bought several other cabinet locks before finding this one. All the others required screws and other hardware, and as I'm renting, I didn't want to put a bunch of holes in the cabinetry. This product is great, as it requires no hardware, and it applied via 3M adhesive pads.The only downsides are that it doesn't exactly prevent the cabinets from being opened at all, instead it allows them to be slightly cracked open, but stops them after about an inch or two. However, this was enough to deter our cats from exploring. The other problem is that after just 2-3 months, one of the adhesive pads lost its adhesiveness, causing the lock to fall off onto one cabinet door. Luckily we still have a couple spare locks; hopefully they last a little longer than 3 months.

I was looking specifically for this type of locks thinking that this design/idea is most secure and convenient to use.Yes, it's very convenient to use, easy to install, looks nice.BUT, my 18 months son snatched them off, all of them from every cabinet door.If you can see the image I have replaced them with a different style.Funny story: I leave in an apartment and the maintenance guy came to fix plumbing issue when nobody was at home. And the funny part that MAINTENANCE guy was not able to open this lock, he didn't figure out how to open it, so he pulled them off.

They work well and are easy enough to maneuver on the right cabinet. Unfortunately I was only able to use one on my pantry door and not able to use on the cabinets they were purchased for. I wasn’t thinking when I bought them and my cabinets have beveled edges which they do not work on and also they are only good if the doors touch each other or have a very small gap. My cabinet have about an inch gap between them so they weren’t compatible.

I’d really love these if they were a little stronger. I actually got these to keep my cats out of the kitchen cupboards but two of them have already fallen off of the doors. I’m not sure if it’s vecause the paint used on them or the backs of the locks just not sticking. If they were semi permanent I’d give five stars cause otherwise they work great!

UPDATE 10/13/17: The seller reached out to me and apologized the product did not work as intended. They sent a replacement free-of-charge. After re-installation, the new lock seems to be holding up much better. It is easy to install.Original Review: The adhesive and does not hold with anything than a light tug. I followed the instructions precisely and these still popped off. Would not recommend

My grandson is really inquisitive as he should be at 10 months. So when I saw these, I immediately bought it. To my dismay the safety locks didn't last a good three days and he pulled each one off. The adhesive is cheap. I will go ahead and buy better adhesive and try to restock, smh

Finally I found baby safety locks which are good looking and reliable ! My baby still didn’t figure out how to open them ) it’s stays there already for 2 weeks and didn’t fell off, even my daughter treats it like a toy and she was so eager on beginning to take it off !Some tips to use this locks :Works best on flat surfaceClean and dry surface before put it onMake sure , you pot them right the way in right place - glue is we’re strongLeave enough space between lock and cabinet handlesThere is little marks on the upper side of the lock- place time way, those marks will be on the gap between cabinet doorsLet dry for 24 hours for better grip ( I placed mine in the evenin, after my baby went to sleep)Review summary - highly recommended for those , who don’t like ugly stuff on their kitchen

These were great, while the stickiness lasted. After a week or two they just fell off. We ended up using hook-and-eyes instead.
