Godox 2 x SK400II-V 800Ws Strobe Flash Light Monolight Kit for Studio Photography

This is a great starter kit for photographers.

Great budget/beginner studio set up. It's a studio in a case. Trigger isn't the best, but it works. Soft box is a pain to set up, but it's essentially a throw in with the tripods and umbrellas since the case and lights alone are worth the price.

I'm giving this four stars instead of five because of the case I got. The lights are great so... Let’s get the negative out of the way. The Godox SK400II-V two Light kit generally comes with the Godox CB-04 case which has casters on one end however, I received the Godox Case CB-05 which appears to be the same case but without casters. Needless to say, it makes transporting the lights more inconvenient when otherwise they could be rolled on hard surfaces, particularly indoors. When I took a closer look at the picture of this light kit, sure enough, it is showing a case WITHOUT casters… bummer. The case is of good, sturdy quality... but... Every component, with the exception of the case, that is listed on the Godox website for this kit is present and accounted for. The major components are two 400ws lights, each containing a built in led modeling lamp that can be turned on/off on the back panel or remotely with a Godox controller. Equipped with built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system, you can control each light together or independently on any one of 16 groups. Completely compatible with any of Godox flash units equipped with 2.4G wireless control. Great for small to medium sized studios. Thirty-two channels available to avoid accidental firing or interference. Two umbrellas, one silver lined, the other, white along with a round white diffuser included. Also included is the Softbox SB-BW, which requires practice to efficiently assemble. Yes, there are easier… more expensive options, but this one is more than adequate. Disassembly is a little trickier but there are a number of YOUTUBE videos that will show you how to pop the rods out quickly. I’m so happy I did that before using these on location away from my home studio. Also included is the Godox Wireless Power-control Flash Trigger XT16, which has 16 channels (some triggers can access additional channels available on the lights). This trigger will accommodate all standard hot shoes for manual sync. Using the Godox X2T-n and XPRO-II ttl is seamless and easy. Last but not least, two light stands are included. Keep in mind that your next purchase will be a flash meter and “used” is not a bad option for that. The lights perform great. I’ve used them in sessions as long as three hours and when the ready-beep sounds (which you can turn off from the back of the light or remotely), I get a consistent light output. The standard Bowens from ring means that building a library of modifiers is vast. The kit is great. The decision to purchase another light case (CB-04 for $69.00)… not so happy but…

It doesn't come with the aluminum front part and that part that was plastic just melted as the light heats up a lot, very poorly done.

Not so stable strobe but for the buck is perfect. Its heavy and bulky but trusty.

Used it for an event and it did its job. Continues to surprise me. I hope they stay this pristine. Hard to use soft box but it is never easy with other brands.

I've used this on several professional shoots and it hasn't missed a beat. Very convenient to have the radio trigger built-in. The unit is a bit big, but the price is so great, I'm not sweating it. If it went down below 1/16th it would be a killer unit, but again...the price is so low I don't care... I'm using this with a 48" Bowens mount softbox...works beautifully.

So this is an easy to use strobe if you have a compatible godox trigger. Recycles fast, has a nice multi level modeling lamp and basically I'ts an all around good value. The only reason I give it an overall score of 3 stars is that it does not go below 1/16th power. So if you want wide aperture portraits you're going to need a ND filter because if you have two strobes at no less than 1/16th it's a lot of light. If this strobe went down 2 or 3 more stops it would be amazing. As is this 1/16th limit feels like a handicap designed to steer you toward the higher end A series strobes. You may as well just buy 3 much cheaper speed lights that will go down to 1/128th power and put them in S-type Bowen mounts. Add some enloupe rechargeable batteries and you're good to go.

Love this product solve my problem for wedding reception shoot specially it support with power cable ... which mean no worry about charging and if you are doing big Indian weddings I would recommend this
