Pretty good!
4 stars because the holes and threads are a bear to get right. A lo5 of muscling into position while you thread, if not, you'll strip the threads out really easy. But they're awesome if you ate diligent. Easy, cheap, great look!

Nice looking product that compliments post railings.
I wish I had these deck post base covers when I put up my Happybuy Wrought Iron Handrails. The Happybuy railings are, of themselves, very good. But the base covers supplied with the product are a bit dodgy. It’s surprising that the people over at Happybuy decided to use what I consider to be a cheaply made “clam shell” post base cover that detracts from their otherwise great looking outdoor bannister railings. And, as far as I can tell, these “friction” post base covers are used pretty much by most outside railing manufacturers. The Epcee product is much better because it is screwed together, a nice touch that prevents too much water from seeping into the post base itself, and none will get through if you judiciously apply some exterior silicone caulking -(read use masking tape!). Water that infiltrates the post base can lead to damage that you can’t see until its too late. The Epcee post base covers are of high quality. They have a really nice paint job that looks baked on, and they fit together perfectly. They come in two pieces, and they are joined by beautiful black Philip’s screws. The way the Epcees’ are connected-with screws- prevents an errant foot from kicking the much cheaper base covers apart, which, if you can believe it, does happen occasionally. That’s a pain in the you know where.Epcee post base covers are well made and should last a long time. While these post base covers are not exactly cheap, if you like products that really look good, and compliment your handiness, this product will hit the spot. I’m changing over to the Epcee product.

Nice item
Like the reviewer before me, I guessed wrong on the size that I needed so what I got is a bit large... but I got that one as a test - I'll get the right ones on my actual order. The item itself is very practical and easy to install. The materials are heavy-duty and won't suffer at all if they get kicked or stepped on. Gives a nice finished look to a plain, bolted-down post. They do seem a bit pricey. I'm doing my most visible front 4 posts but they'd have to be cheaper for me to do my back deck railing as well... but if you don't mind the price, the item itself is quite good.

Just be sure of the size you need!
I made a mistake in the measurement of the post with which I wanted to use this cover. I am using it to secure the post to a cement step. I was able to drill out holes to fasten the cover to the cement and then used a wooden block, clear sealer, and a bit of black waterproof goo (an "As Seen On TV" item...) to be sure the thinner post was held tightly in the base/cover so that the handrail is secure.

Yes! A lifesaver!
I can't believe someone makes this- and I stumbled across it at just the right time! - We are in the process of installing new staircase railing - and what a mess - one of the posts is (custom) angled, but the base cover is not - so the standard cover is straight while the base is level. I started to snip, cut and bend and ... well ... it was a mess. Until ... I found this cover. What a cool idea (and a lifesaver). First - it is 2 pieces so I don't have to un-assemble the cables etc. AND then I can adjust this so part of the cover angles down - and then secure it with the screws. OG what a lifesaver (and looks good - just like it was custom made for our railing).

Would be perfect, if only the pole was on center.
Whoever welded our fence together did NOT put the poles on center. They are ugly and annoying. I didn't realize it until I tried to use this. This won't work for me, but...If they had been on center, it would have been perfect.I suggest you take a look at all your posts. Make sure to measure the size of each. The ones in the middle of our fence are a half-an-inch smaller than the posts on the outside of our fence. And, not all of them are off center. Argh!I have decided to use this decoratively around a wooden post that we use to hang signs. It will be perfect and class up the post.Bottom line: Would I order again? Sure, if I could use them for my original purpose, I would in a heartbeat. Would I gift? I wouldn't rule it out.
