Works very well - no changes noticed on pressure
I installed this filter in a dual filter system, the first is a sediment only filter for 1 micron before my pressure regulator, the second is this filter after the pressure regulator. I tested for chlorine before and after. Chlorine was present before, there is zero chlorine after installing this filter. The water is so clean, I can put it directly in my freshwater aquarium without adding any stabilizing chemicals. Since I did the filter housing installs myself, I installed pressure gauges in three places - before the regulator, after the regulator before this filter and after this filter. I see no pressure drop across the filter while running a single shower. I imagine if I turned on all four showers in the house at the same time, I would see some pressure drop, but that's not a normal scenario, the most I ever see with my family is two showers or baths at the same time. This isn't the least expensive filter out there, but it is NSF 42 rated which adds cost to producing these units. My source water is pretty good to start with, pH is 7.0, kH and gH are 3, so I do get the full 6 months service life from my filters. I have great confidence this will extend the service life of all my household plumbing, and after this filter had been in place for 4 months, I replaced all the shutoff valves (multi-turn valves with rubber washers) with 1/4 turn ball valves to further reduce contamination in the system. We removed the filters from our refrigerators as they are now redundant and only slow the flow. We couldn't tell the difference between straight tap water and refrigerator filtered water after installing this whole house unit anyway. I'm glad to be out of the $100 spend every 6 months for refrigerator only filters! Best of all, with this configuration, the bottom of the toilet tanks (replaced all the toilets with dual flush after installing the new filter) has remained pristine so I am confident the sediment filtering is working as intended too.

Great Filter
This product is one of the cartridge options for the Aqua-Pure system we bought: Aqua-Pure AP802 Water Filter System, Whole House, 45 gpm. Ultimately, though, it's the filter cartridge that determines what you will filter out of your water. This Aqua-Pure system let us choose between- particulate and chlorine removal (this product)- particulate-only removal ( Aqua-Pure AP810-2 (AP802-1.5-C) Replacement Cartridge, 5 Micron Rating Water Filter )We opted for this filter cartridge. because we wanted to filter out chlorine and crud. Also very important is that we still get good water flow after running through the filter. We still get 20 gpm after our water runs through the filter. Other systems drop down your water flow to 5gpm, after you run through the filter. That wasn't going to work for us. (Obviously if you don't already *have* at least 20gpm, using this filter won't increase your water flow. It just won't drop it below 20gpm.) Our 80psi water pressure has not suffered, either, from what we can tell. You can maintain an even higher water flow if you choose the particulate-only filter (AP810-2, link above), but it's not worth it for us. We wanted the chlorine to be filtered, too, and our water flow has not suffered. We have to change the filter cartridge every 6 to 12 months, but at $50/pop, that's acceptable. The Aqua-Pure system is inexpensive. It was originally made by a company called Cuno which got bought by 3M. We've been very pleased with 3M products in the past, so we had confidence of the brand. And so far, it's been everything we hoped for. The water tastes great, and there's no chlorine smell, and no more clogging up of our faucets. We're very pleased with it.

Great filter
I have gotten this filter a few times over the last several years. It has been working well for me. In my case it has lasted longer than the recommended time before I needed to change it.

Great whole house filter
This is the same whole house filter( manufacture and model) my plumber installed a year and half ago but cheaper on amazon. The manufacturer says to replace every 6 months but we can get over a year with 3 -4 people in the house with no reduction of water pressure. This blocks chlorine and sediment along with other chemicals in city water, making the water as pure as can be.

This flows well
I installed this in the whole house filter housing. The well pump fills the tank as fast as it ever did. I haven't noticed any slowdown. Water flow rate was the main concern I had when I installed a filter. It is too early for me to give any rating on the effectiveness of keeping sand and sediment out of my house, but I'm sure it will be worth it. Why would I doubt myself at this point, I've already put the filter in.

Unhappy with how this filter arrived from Amazon
I just received this filter from Amazon, packed in the same box as my Aprilaire 501 filter. The Aqua-Pure filter came with the clear cellophane off on both ends and this left the actual filter filthy on both ends. That's not what you want when you are using it to CLEAN the water you are drinking!

The filters are fine. However
The filters are fine. However, this is the 2nd time they show up with the plastic completely ripped off. Shipping has been poor. I have event had the rubber washers knocked off and laying in the box.
