comfy, but surprisingly less effective than you'd think
The main reason I ordered this was the cold snap and not wanting to have to keep forking over money to the gas company by having the heating on full blast, so I was hoping it would be as warm and snug as it appeared. My first impression on unwrapping it was that it looked very thin; this wasn't too worrying, as I've got a hat and gloves made from an even thinner material, but keep me toasty warm. The acid test was when I got home, had some television programmes I'd recorded and wanted to catch up on so with a big cup of coffee I settled down on the couch with this giant blanket thingy and was very disappointed - even with the fleece top I was wearing, I was still just as cold! I have an old throw, of a similar thickness, which is much warmer - I'd cut sleeves into that if it wouldn't ruin the picture on it.In less cold weather, the slanket does keep you warm and I will admit I've fallen asleep under it. The quality of the material and the size are very good, and the only design suggestion I could make is a bit of tailoring around the bottom so it doesn't get caught up in giant monster slippers when you're trying to shuffle back to the coffee machine.Quick summary - as a convenience item for temperatures a few degrees above freezing, it's fine. If it's seriously cold, buy a quilt.

buy a proper slanket it makes sense!
trying to save on some money that I do not really want to give my energy provider I was looking at slankets and I spent half a day or so looking at the cheap/er options and a proper slanket which would be five times the price of a cheap one but having read the reviews for the cheaper ones there seemed to me to be a lot of negative reviews on the thickness and the quality of the slanket/(insert copy name here snuggles or whatever) so after some thought I decided to go for a proper slanket.boy am I glad I did, the slanket is slightly thicker than a raglan flece I wear in the winter months, its about 8ft long and covers me nicely and im a bigger than average chap and is nice and toasty warm once your under it,there is no pilling or shedding so far which was another thing I had read about the cheaper options,on mine there is a slanket logo on the right arm sleeve at the bottom,I did have concerns about being sent a dodgy one but decided the best way round this was to order from amazon itself(like the eu s,a,r,l, one you see around here and for me it worked),I used to have my heating set at nineteen degrees at night now with the slanket I can cope with it set at eighteen degrees and still be warm and toasty, worth the extra money I think.

It's a warm and fleecy treat....
Well, I got this just before Christmas with someone in mind however, when my daughter saw it she wanted it. I relented and she was straight into it.It's massive for starters, a bit different from what I was expecting. There was me thinking that it was like some massive bag with sleeves that you had to get into but it's not. It's open at the back, you stick your arms in the sleeves and then wrap it behind you whilst falling onto the sofa with a big cheesy on your face - well, my daughter does anyway. Then, because you're all wrapped in, you can order pop, food and cups of tea from anyone not in the Slanket - it's me in my house, this is down to the fact that it would be too much faffing to have to get up and do it all yourself. It doesn't induce lazyness, just cosyness and the desire not to move from your warm, snug cocoon.

Snuglet a better name!
Comfy, easily big enough and the only danger is falling asleep on the sofa and never going to bed! I found I was able to lower the thermostat, saving money on the dreaded gas bill, as well, so I'm sure it must have paid for itself over the colder part of the year. I bought one for my narrow boat, as well, because that can get more than a little draughty, at times, and I tend to wear mine back to front, so I can have a hood, to keep my neck warm. This way, I can also hike it up to walk about. It's big enough to wrap around me, wearing it this way, without any gaping holes. Thinking about it, that's the second danger; if you try to walk with it on, you are likely to trip over.......Good as a pressie for someone, or yourself....go for it before the winter sets in.

worth every penny
I was looking for a snuggle blanket or similar as a Christmas gift for my partner who feels the cold more than me and we can never find the ideal temperature for our living room. I considered being a scrooge and going for the el-cheapo versions on sale everywhere - so glad I read the reviews first and decided to pay a bit more for this one. It's ideal. It's warm, durable, doesn't seem to have any static cling and it's huge - perfect for the 6'4" person it was bought for. Now he can sit wrapped up snuggly and warm and still manage to play on his laptop and android and no more calls for me to reach things because he doesn't want to take his arms out from under the previous throw he used. Buying it in a dark colour was an inspired choice too - it just doesn't show any dirt or marks at all. A quick shake and an hour or so hung out to air and it doesn't seem to pick up any stale odours either. What a clever prezzie giver I am! I love it and so does he.

Will keep you warm but not great for moving around in!
This really is quite an interesting purchase. Although it looks a great item in all the pictures, it does take some getting used to. It is basically a blanket with a couple of sleeves on it, so you can't really `wear' it as such, just put your arms in the sleeves. Once you have done this, you will notice the sleeves are actually huge, so your hands can't really move without the huge sleeve following them. The main problem I had with it was that it is overly long when you wear it, so you have an extremely long tail following you when you move around, gathering dust along the floor and getting tangled in your feet. The material itself seems good quality, and will keep you warm. Overall this is great so long as you don't move around and stay in the same place, but then you may as well just buy a regular blanket for half the price!
