adjustable and very sturdy

Was looking for a solution to assist my elderly and weak mom with getting in and out of my full size SUV. This is lightweight and sturdy and gives her a safe additionl step. She also uses it in the house to exercise she has handles on both sides ans usez it to strengthen her legs.

If you have a parent that has to swing leg up and over ( basically can’t lift leg straight up at the knee). This may not be the right fit. My Mother had a brain aneurism many years ago, that took her left side. Over time, she did regain use, but now being forty years later, she is becoming increasingly weaker on her left side. She understandably, feels the need to, hang onto something, while she is getting into or out of a vehicle. And it needs to be super sturdy, as well. I have not found anything that has fit that bill. The best so far, has been an exercise step ( safest ) as far as having a non slip, fixed solid surface. Because this item has four little legs, if it is on an uneven surface, it tottles. So, even with a handle, which is great, it does not “feel safe” to my mom. Two of the legs are also a bit of a hurdle, for my mom to get her left leg, up and over. As they are raised onto the top side of the step, at about an inch or so, higher than the level of the step. Probably a great step for many. But may be a bit of a hurdle for those with balance and strength issues, as well as those that have to also turn on the step before sitting down. I will keep searching. But for now an exercise step is the best. As she can step up and turn on it safely.

Sturdy and easy to put together!

We liked the ability to adjust height both for legs on bottom and the handle. Unit is very sturdy.

My elderly mother is only 4'10" tall, weighs 88 lbs, and has MS. She has a very difficult time getting in and out of my SUV, but this sturdy stool as all but eliminated that problem! It's easy for her to step onto, then step up into my Explorer. The padded handles on both sides are especially nice and they're very easy for her to grip. The handles are a bit too loose if left at the very top position though, so I've had to adjust them down two more spots to make them feel sturdier.

I purchased this stool in November. We thought it was perfect until it actually fell apart 3 weeks ago, eight months after buying it. My mother is not overweight so we know that was not a factor. She weighs 140 lbs. It is some type of metal and seems to have “melted” on one of the legs. I would NOT recommend this stool and consider it now dangerous. i should be entitled to a refund. Obviously it is extremely poor quality! Do not purchase this!

The platform is stable and bigger than most but it definitely needs some type of grip or safety tape on the top. A little bit of moisture will make this VERY SLIPPERY! The handle is 2 pieces and is more than a bit "wobbly" in the middle. This is not an issue if you do not use the handle or you have it so low it is pointless. DO NOT TRUST THE DIMENSIONS! The top of the platform at its highest is only 7 inches, not 8 inches as listed. If you measure from the ground/floor to the top of the tube that is attached to the platform, that is 8 inches high, but the platform is only 7 inches tall. I remember buying a horribly translated repair manual for an imported motorcycle in the 1970's. The wording and translations were terrible to the point of being comical, the instructions that came with this step stool are far worse, be ready for that.
