Q: I have an 8x12 rug - should I buy the 9x12 and request vendor to cut it prior to shipping?

Hi - I ordered a 8x10 and they sent me a 8x11 I think. I had to cut the rug with heavy duty scissors because it was an inch too big on one side and you could see the pad. It's a nice pad though - we put it under an oriental rug

Q: is this pad suitable for a kilim?

We use ours under our living room area rug. We bought a slip resistance pad initially, because we just installed hardwood floors. With having a newborn who is now crawling we needed some extra padding so we bought this. If it's nicely under our area rug which is an 8 x 10. We did have to trim off a little bit but other than that we really like the extra padding it was worth the money for us. I hope this helps as I'm not sure exactly what your question is.

Q: Can you cut a pad to fit under a 6 by 10 rug or is it easy to cut ourselves?

I used carpet shears to cut mine. Pretty easy. Also cut about 2 in shorter (so it is about an inch inside the rug all around the edge).
