The Housemaid's Secret

Gripping, Twisted, and Utterly Addictive!
The Housemaidâs Secret was everything I hoped for and more. Freida McFadden knows exactly how to keep you on the edge of your seat â just when I thought I had it figured out, the story flipped in a completely unexpected direction.Millieâs return is both thrilling and emotional. Watching her navigate another high-stakes, dangerous situation had me flying through the pages. The suspense built perfectly, and I couldnât stop reading until I hit the last sentence â and what an ending! This sequel somehow manages to top the first book. Itâs fast-paced, clever, and filled with just the right amount of psychological tension and shocking twists. If youâre a fan of dark domestic thrillers, this is a must-read. I'm already about to start The Housemaid is Watching!

Good book!
Good thriller! It had a great plot twist but I felt the ending was a bit flat. For me the book was intriguing and surprising like the first one, but I had more expectations of a twisty or more exciting ending. Some characters were also a bit blah like Brock, he really didn't do anything for me.Overall, I do prefer The Housemaid. I think it was a better story as a whole, but this is still a good read!

This is a superb thriller
âThe Housemaidâs Secretâ by Freida McFadden is a superb book. It is a continuation of her prior thriller âThe Housemaid.â Readers who missed the preceding volume will still enjoy this one, even if they haven't read it. Anything that they need to know is told in this tale. This thriller is about a poor woman with a history of ten years in jail for a murder she did not commit. She did kill a man, but it was self-defense. The man was threatening to kill a woman he had been abusing. The jury at her trial did not believe the truth. As a result, she had difficulty finding a job as an ex-con. She worked as a maid. But on the side, he helped many abused women and got a reputation among those whom she helped. She receives a call from a wealthy man to come work at his penthouse. He told her his wife is very ill and she should not try to speak to her. When she sees blood on the floor, she approaches the woman, who tells her she has been brutalized repeatedly by her husband. She decides to help. However, as in all Freida McFadden thrillers, what appears to be true is not necessarily true; good people may be bad, and bad people may be good. There are always twists and turns in the thriller, with plenty of red herrings. Readers will enjoy this book.

good read- a little drawn out!
I really enjoyed continuing with Millie! I loved the twist at the end but I almost did not finish it. It was a bit drawn out in the beginning to middle- especially with Milleâs new boyfriend, Brock. Overall, good read!

Not what I expected, but still hyped for the last one!
Millie? Nosy as hell. FFS đ€đNow listen, Enzo and Brock? They carried this whole damn story on their backs like saints. I genuinely donât know how I made it through without rage-quittingâprobably because they were the only ones who remembered how to use their brains. Bless them đI actually enjoyed the first book, even though I barely remembered half of it (oops). I walked in thinking this sequel would serve the same energy... aaand nope. I was wrong. So very wrong đ« Was it bad? Nah. But it sure as hell wasnât what I signed up for. My happy expectations? Shattered. đ«„đLetâs talk about the leads. Millie and Wendy were bothâhow do I put this gently?âdisasters. Millie had potential back in book one, I liked her! But four years later sheâs supposed to be the genius of the group... and instead, sheâs out here making decisions that made me want to throw the book at a wall. And Wendy?? Donât even get me started. Every scene with her had me screaming internally. Girl, get it together. đ©That said⊠Freida McFadden, you sneaky queen đ Just when I think Iâve figured everything out, she drops a bomb outta nowhere and leaves me speechless. Itâs what she does bestâand I lowkey live for it.I was warned this one was the âleast favoriteâ of the trilogy, and yeah, I get it now. But even with the frustration, Iâm still hyped for the last one. Just not yetâI need a breather and a shot of tequila first đ đđ

Once again, read this one in one sitting. I was shocked to be, once again, surprised by the twists and turns. This author is so imaginative. Loved it, both reading and listening.
