This door & window sensor works amazingly well with Home Assistant. I paird this up to my Pi running home assistant via a ZigBee conbee stick & it's yet to let me done. It's a really small sensor so perfect for hiding away on the side of a window or door frame. The double sticky tap on the back makes super quick the install & pairing up to your ZigBee hub is a breeze, it was found instantly on mine. It provides accurate results when opening and closing the door allowing for my automations to run flawlessly. Great value for money!

This is one of the first Thread- and Matter-based devices from Aqara. Thread devices are still fairly new to market and I've found that some other competing devices are quite buggy. This one was very straightforward and worked exactly as expected. The sensor is supplied with strong adhesive strips and also an optional magnet if required. I found the adhesive was more than sufficient to stick to the door and door-frame. Most older Aqara devices are Zigbee-based and need an Aqara hub, which acts as a Matter bridge to Apple Home, Alexa or Google Home. This sensor directly supports Matter-over-Thread, so no additional hub was required. Instead it connects wirelessly with my Apple TV which contains a Thread border router. Installation to Apple Home was a breeze; it paired very quickly after scanning the Matter QR code and then appeared in the Home dashboard. After that it was very easy to set up automations; I've set it to turn the kitchen heating off if the back door is open. The device responds almost instantly to opening and closing. Time will tell in terms of battery life. I wish all smart home devices were this simple!

nice little door sensor. Didn't setup in Aqara app as only wanted to use Apple Home - installed in seconds. Now get alerts when the door opens and closes....

I ordered this 3 pack of Aqara contact sensors to replace my rather old outdated Alarm contact sensors - The sensors are amazingly small and just look so much better than our previous door contact sensors. Pairing with Z2M in Home Assistant was super simple - recogised straight away - there is no delay in the contact sensor reporting to Z2M, it's instant! Super happy with these and would highly recommend them to others - pricey compared to TUYA zigbee sensor, but hey are great quality!
