Better Bathrooms Ecobar Thermostatic Bar Shower Mixer Valve

This is a mid-price range item. Our plumber declined to try and repair our previous shower bar as not being cost effective. He recommended replacing with new as he said they are easy to fit to pre-installed spigots. He was absolutely right. I was prepared for a typical "5 minute DIY job" to take a couple of hours, but it did take me literally 5 minutes to remove the old unit, clean the surrounding area, and fit the new unit. The shower unit comes pre-calibrated (but there are easy to follow instructions should you want to re-calibrate to suit your own water pressure circumstances. I didn't mess with the calibration. Once installed I turned the mains water back on, reset our combination boiler and took a well-deserved hot shower. The unit works perfectly well with our condensing combination boiler, and the shower temperature range goes from cold to very hot. Setting the shower to the temperature you want is easy, and so far remains constant during the shower. Thoroughly recommend this unit.

The design is very good and fitting it was a breeze. I couldn't use the shrouds included as they were too small to cover the thread of the pipes that the shower screws to. It doesn't seem to have the quality of the Mira one I was replacing but that only lasted 4 years. As this is more than half the price its well worth it.

Easy DIY job. Nice to have temp control back. Feels good quality. Would have cost much more through a plumber and that's not necessary. Check your pipe separation, but it's usually standard.

It looks and works really well, lots of power from the shower head and easy to control the thermostat and on/off. I have nothing negative to say about this, it's only been in place 2 weeks and it is working just great

Bough this to replace a shower mixer bar that only lasted 18 months and this is doing the job well so fingers crossed this will last much longer. I read the reviews and saw how quick and easy this is to fit and it was. Take note: If it's a straight swap and you know someone with a bit of d.i.y. experience they could easily fit this for you. Do not, like me get ripped off with a plumber for such a simple job!

Got 2 of these super vfm shower bars which were easy to install. Unfortunately hot water to one of them was coming through as it should and I expected it to be the thermostat control. One quick email was replied to in 24hrs and a no quibble replacement arrived 48 hours later. Fantastic service thanks. A+++
