I’m very happy with this external CD/DVD drive. It was very easy to set up—just plug and play, no extra installation needed. It works smoothly, reads and writes discs without any issues, and the speed is good. I like that it’s lightweight and easy to carry. It’s perfect for laptops that don’t have a built-in drive. Overall, it works great and I highly recommend it.

Received this product on time and in good condition. It immediately connected and worked fine. Still wishing they had not removed CD/DVD from computers. (dumb) This optical drive plays CDs and DVDs with ease. It has helped me to load new software on my new computer and to convert CDs to digital format. It has great speed and is portable, so you can take it along with you on to a new journey.

I recently found a copy of a rare old CD that had some tracks I wanted to rip to my PC, but like most modern computers it didn't come with a CD/DVD drive. This is plug and play - no software to install, just shows up as a local drive in your File Explorer and was immediately recognized by Exact Audio Copy as a drive to rip/burn to. I didn't test the burn functionality, but it worked great to rip the CD to my computer as FLAC files.

Had operating issue with first purchase. Replacement was quick and 2nd unit performed well.

Nice looking, slim DVD/CD player at a good price. Now I can download music on my new laptop. It might be that I'm running Windows 11 pro, but to get it to play DVDs I had to download a VLC drive. No big deal. Plays DVD without any problems. As far as CDs, nice crisp clear sound. Using the media player on my laptop for that. I like how the cable fits into the bottom. No separate cable to lose. As for portability it fits nicely in my laptop case. Haven't burned any CDs or DVDs yet so can't comment on that. So far, I'm happy with it. If you're looking for an external unit at a great price, give this one a try.

when i got this and tried to plug it into my macbook with the type c cable it wasn't connecting. i was getting really sad about it, but then i realized that it wasn't in all the way. so keep this in mind if you use a computer with usb type c: you have to push the cable in as far as possible to get it to read the disc player. it should make a click once you get it in far enough it's a bit stubborn. once it was in i got it to burn a mixtape of my favorite band, with 15 songs or 56 minutes, and it burned the cd in around five minutes, maybe less. it was super loud while burning, but personally i don't mind as someone who grew up playing on the xbox 360. anyway after it was done i put the disc in my radio/cd player and it plays flawlessly with great sound. so personally i had a mostly great experience with the disc drive, i would absolutely recommend if you want something cheap, easy to use, and high quality

Works great only problem my USB plug got stuck and broke off in my TV. It doesn't even work that way. A CD got stuck because it lost power. Bad news is the wire has five smaller wires so it's not quite so easy to splice. Good news is if you take the cord off, the base of the cord is a USB C port into the main mechanics of the player. So you can take any USBC that can transfer video audio data from your phone to a computer into the player and get it to work from there. No clue why the USB port broke off so easy. First day of having it, looks super ugly, but it's fully functional. And I don't think this USB C port for USB port is going to snap off because it never has before.

Simple plug and play device. Zero issues.
