Gimmicky
I received this as a Gift, I really wanted to like it but I wish people wouldn't gift me such niche kit; I've been using hammocks for over a decade, and I know how I like my set ups so im a little bias but... given my experiences.I've given this a real good go but, I can't get over it's pointless gimmicks which just take up space, or make no sense... such as the "storable" insolation layer; if you use it then it's an extra zip layer to get in and out of making get out of the hammock extra cumbersome and noisy... if an animal or someone dodgy is going through your camp site, you'll have zip after zip after zip to contend with first. It may PARTIALLY unzip and then fold up in to the foot of the hammock... but you can't remove it without cutting it out and potentially damaging the hammocks stitching, even when compressed this layer alone takes up a good fist size of space where you could have extra food or piece of kit in your pack. Also, why on earth did they put guy lines on the side of the hammock? Invented trip hazard for yourself and all your friends, utterly pointless.Even the tension line for the moggy net is not easily removed or refitted afterwards. Nor does the net have a toggle loop for you to roll it up and out of the way.Worst of all, there's no waterproof tarp included! There's one made for this hammock that you have to buy separately! For the price? Thats not cool.Without modifications, I wouldn't recommend spending so much money on a hammock, especially when it's lacking a tarp.
