It worked, then it didn't work, but they replaced it with no hassles, and it's working again.
Bought my first EV, a BMW i4, last August, and purchased this charger at the same time. The directly wired ones get higher amperage and thus quicker charges, so that's what I got. I needed an electrician to install a 220 circuit in my garage and so I had him hook up the charger, too. I thought I was going to need a new electrical panel, but they used "half-height' breakers and everything fit in the existing panel (yay for my electrician!). After that, the charger was easy to set up and easy to use. The app is straightforward and keeps track of the times when the local utility company has differential rates. When the car needs charged, I plug it in and go to bed. The charger wakes up at 11PM and *always* finishes in the lower-rate window. I generally start charging when the car's battery is between 20% and 30% and only charge to 80%, so I also don't need to run the charger at full amperage. It's my understanding that it's harder on both the car and the charger to run at higher amps, and, in fact, the charging cable did get hot the one time I ran it at 40 Amps. I've got a 50 Amp circuit, and i've never run it at the level. It all worked great until late February of 2025, about five months after I bought the charger. Suddenly, it would no longer connect to the internet or to my app. I ran through the trouble-shooting steps, including power-cycling the charger via the circuit breaker in the panel. No go. I called the customer care number, stepped through the trouble-shooting steps another time with them (sigh). Still no go. They tried one more time to reboot it remotely, and that didn't work either. They then escalated the case to one level up.I had to provide proof-of-purchase with a dated invoice (thank you, Amazon, for making that easy), and within a couple of days they shipped a new charger to me. It's now about ten days after that, and it's re-installed in my garage. The only thing I have left to do is take the old charger to Fedex to return to them. Oh, and pay the electrician $150 to install the new charger. On a positive note, the defective charger still charged my car--I just couldn't control it with the app. The i4, however, lets you set a charging window, so you can control the time and amount of the charge via the car and don't really need the app. Thus, while I was waiting for a new charger, I was still able to charge my vehicle. (again, yay) But, now I've got the replacement charger installed and all is once again good in the garage's charging world.I have to say that Chargepoint made this as easy as possible to do the exchange, and were prompt in getting the charger to me. Having watched the electrician do the re-install, I'm pretty confident I could have done it myself and saved the $150. On the other hand, I can't use a screwdriver without cutting myself, so that and my peace of mind made it worthwhile to hire an electrician to do the install.Overall, I'm still happy with my purchase. Of course, if THIS one fails, too, that will change. Perusing reviews, however, these appear to be reliable. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Works great. Pretty simple install.
I drive a 2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line. I bought this about a year ago, more on a whim than a necessity. Level one charging has been perfectly adequate for my general needs. This is really a convenience I don't require, but still wanted. A friend of mine drives a VW ID.4 and uses this same charger, and I guess I had some charger envy. I may have also been a little bit intoxicated when I hit "pay."Anyway, a neighbor who is a licensed contractor was going to install for me. After about 8 months of waiting on him to have time, I eventually did some Harry-Homeowner style education (I've moved 240v, but never installed new) and decided to wire this myself, with the help of my brother who isn't an electrician but is a union tradesman with electrical experience. We wired it on a 50a breaker, using 8 gauge THHN copper wire, and PVC conduit from the panel. It's about a 20 foot journey, and we had to work in a weird bend where the siding on the house meets some brickwork. The hardest part was pulling the wire, as it got hung up a bit on aforementioned bend. But once we got past that, it was straightforward. Two live wires and a ground. No polarity, no neutral. Tough to mess up. The way they have all the wires line up with each other inside the unit is a little bit weird-- green, red, and black enter from the power source in a different sequence than they exit to the charging cable-- but just pay attention to the manual. Also, as long as you have the ground in the right place, I don't think it should matter about red and black (or whatever you're using for your two live wires coming off the panel). But I hope your electrical education is more vast than just reading this review and hoping I'm right.Getting the unit to shake hands with the house power and the WiFi was easy, using ChargePoint's app. (You don't really need to use the professional installer app to get it to work, just the regular consumer one.) Once I plugged into the car, it's pulling at a pretty consistent 9.4kw. Almost exactly the estimated output for a 40a charge on a 50a breaker. I've been charging the car on a 110v household current for almost 2 years, and a 20-80% charge has taken about 36-40 hours. Now the same charge takes less than 6 hours. It seems it would be ever so slightly faster if I used a 70a breaker and 6 gauge wire, but I do all my charging overnight, and the difference in charge times is negligible enough that I can't justify the extra expense. I'd be asleep for those extra few minutes anyway. Also, to the naked eye, the wires to the plug don't appear to be larger than the 8 gauge I ran from the panel. So maybe that doesn't actually make a difference, and it's all in the breaker. I'll let actual electricians argue about that.Pretty happy with it. The cord is pliable enough, even in 30-40 degree Utah winter temperatures that it doesn't appear to be an issue. Though I did install inside the (unheated) garage. I can't say whether outside might present a bigger issue. I don't think it would. Also, with newer EVs all going with the Tesla style form factor, I was glad to see that when I buy something newer, I can replace the cable on this for around $200, instead of buying a whole new unit.Overall, it's sort of pricey, compared to some of the alternatives, but worth it to me for a trusted name in EV charging. No complaints.

GREAT at home charger
Game changer of a charger. I am in SoCal and although my car came with free electrify america charging, they are often full. this charger works well and after 6 months, extremely reliable. I paid my electrician $1200 to install, well worth it after an Edison rebate of $1000. I have only had one issue where it lost connectivity and wouldn't charge (which caused and issue). Love it though and that glitch was the only issue I have had. It takes 6-7 hours to charge my Audi GT (overnight) from 10-80% (recommended charge point for in city driving). The app lets you set a reminder every night to plug in your car, which is lovely.

Home charging at its best.
Zero issues. Had this professionally installed because we're talking about a 60A circuit here...One thing they probably should tell you in the manual - make sure the device is cradled before trying to connect to Wi-Fi. And set the device up to deliver maximum power before using via the app. We love it and hopefully it continues to work. I'll re-review this after 6 months.
