The capacitor supplied is not the Ducati version shown in the illustration and is significantly larger than stated in the product description. This meant there was no way it would fit in the casing on my shower pump. Had I read the negative reviews before purchase I would not have used this supplier, but it is interesting that the first review pointing out the misleading information was in 2015! For most applications the size of this capacitor will not be critical, but it is still reasonable to expect a technical item to be accurately specified, particularly when the issue has been pointed out by customers.Incidentally, the supplier will accept the capacitor as a return. However, the cost of the postage is almost as much as the value of the item, so it is not worthwhile to send it back.

Solved the problem of my Salamander shower pump not starting. It was becoming more and more reluctant to start, requiring me to hold the shower head in the tray, and eventually it gave up altogether. This was accompanied by a loud humming noise from what I later realised was the capacitor. The one supplied here has a slightly higher maximum voltage rating to the original, but I understand that the key is that it must not be lower. The important thing is to get the resistance right - in this case 10 UF. Pump motor now kicks in immediately and shower works a treat. (Salamander's technical support we're very friendly, but suggested that the problem lay in the flow rate from the tank, and even said that I may have to replace the pump with a more powerful one, or a negative head one! Delighted to have solved the problem with this very modest purchase )

Good price, delivered promptly & works .That should earn it 5 Stars but if I had known its dimensions beforehand I may not have bought it.The item was a replacement for a faulty capacitor in a Stuart Turner 2 bar shower pump ( Model 46343, Circa 2007).The original capacitor is approx. 30mm diameter X 63mm long including spade connectors.This item is approx. 35mm diameter X 95mm long including spade connectors.It is a tight fit & I just about got the pump cover back on.The item sent is Branded Europart Universal Capacitor 7uf (MFD) 450VAC.

While the product works, it is much larger than the picture, and much larger than the previous one I bought from the same company when the capacitor went in my shower pump a few years ago. This is 95mm long and 35mm wide, far too big to fit in the case, making it useless to me except as a means of testing to ensure that it was the capacitor that was the issue. The capacitor also has a metal screw, rather than a plastic one as the picture would suggest, otherwise I'd have trimmed it down to size.

Did the job; replaced U/S capacitor in shower pump after contacting manufacturer to explain symptoms. Had to cut off threaded end to fit pump casing but easily done with saw, thought pump had busted so big sigh of relief!Turns out that most domestic products with pumps or motors use this item to 'kick start' the motor so if you tumble dryer or shower pump just sits there humming odds are that you need a new one of these.

Capacitor was exactly as shown in photograph, with a makers name of Ducati. I was able to find a data sheet on-line for their capacitor range, which gave me precise device parameters as well as a measure of confidence in the manufacturer. The device was inserted into the failed shower pump and it started immediately.

I bought this to replace a failed capacitor in my Belle minimix concrete mixer. Although a little bigger than the genuine Belle one it still fitted and worked fine. And about a third of the price of the genuine one.

A much cheaper, and could be a longer lasting, alternative to the manufacturers replacement for my compressor.
