Worth the money!
I recently had the pleasure of assembling and exploring the VONADO Johnny 5 Robot Building Block Set, and it's safe to say that this STEM educational toy brings the iconic robot to life in more ways than one! For fans of the classic film, the set beautifully captures the essence of Johnny 5 being "alive" in a philosophical sense. The homage to the lightning bolt that bestowed intelligence and sentience adds an extra layer of significance to the model. In conclusion, the VONADO Johnny 5 Robot Building Block Set is a delightful blend of nostalgia, educational value, and intricate design. It's a must-have for fans of the iconic robot and a fantastic gift for youngsters interested in robotics. Whether you're reliving the magic of "Short Circuit" or introducing a new generation to the charm of Johnny 5, this set delivers on both fun and meaningful experiences. Highly recommended!

Love it
I loved this movie as a kid so was thrilled to build this little guy. Instructions were clear and only had a few confusing parts but nothing bad, good quality only recommended I have is may wanna glue his head to the body it falls off if you adjust it but that's the only complaint I have with it, can't tell a difference from the other Big brand, great value

Minor part tolerance issues, but a great model at a great price
This is a great little model but not real Lego--I had my doubts, but decided for $15, I'd roll the dice and see what happens (the last time I bought KO Lego was a "Star Wart" X-Wing that came with two left wings). So if you ...need input!--read on!As expected, there were minor issues with part tolerances--plates placed side-by-side had an angled gap between them, and some technic axel pins fit too loosely and would slip out. One of the arms was too loose and would fall out, but I was able to swap the loose part with another of the same part from somewhere else in the model where a tight fit was less essential, and it held together. You would -never- see an issue like this with genuine Lego, but then this is why Lego costs double what this set cost. There were no spare parts. Not really a problem, but Lego always includes a spare copy of the smallest parts just in case the packing machine made a mistake an left one out. Still, due to the tolerance issue, not having any spares adds to the risk of buying this set. The model also came with a brick separator, which seems like a bit of a luxury in a set this size, so that was nice. The parts were clean, with no dirt or grease on them (an issue I've experienced with other off-brands), and all well-formed other than the tolerance issue noted above. The box was very tightly packed--not a lot of space like the moderately over-sized boxes Lego uses. The printed instruction manual is fine, and almost entirely pictograms with very little text (to be expected). There is also a PDF instruction available via a QR code and I opted to use this. The design is clever and interesting for the most part, though not quite up to Lego's standards. Some larger parts are held on by one stud, and there are several instances where Lego would have found a better/more secure way to accomplish the task where this model goes with "good enough." There are a few "illegal building techniques", too--several instances of studs mounted in technic holes. The model looks great, though, and holds together well enough. The shoulders swivel, but cannot move outward--it would have been nice if they were ball joints. The eyebrows can't move much, and perhaps the biggest disappointment is the head can't swivel (only nod up and down). The upper body/torso is secured to the base using only a single rod, but it seems to hold together fine. Lastly, I'm not too happy with how the laser is mounted, but I can't seem to find pictures of the rear of the actual robot to tell how it should be mounted. It works well enough from most angles, and amusingly uses a black hotdog to do it. There is no clean way to pivot the laser back in its unarmed position (but honestly, why would you do that, the laser is one of his coolest features). The yellow box I believe is the utility canister that he traded his laser for in the sequel. It's nice to have both options, though as a kid (and still as an adult), I believed trading a laser for an umbrella was a poor decision. In the end, because Lego themselves will never make this, I think it's a great buy, especially at the price. With a bit of luck, the part tolerances will turn out fine and you'll have a fantastic little display piece. Or put another way, no disassemble Number 5--Number 5 is alive!

Super nostalgic
Easy build, missing 1 piece, and fragile. Definitely for display purposes only.

Perfect little project!
Looks just like legos, and the instructions worked just like them too. I'm pleased with how long it took to make and how big it turned out

Was pretty quick and easy, Only issue was a missing piece. I have sent an email though as suggested in the manual.

Item came with a missing piece
Overall not a hard build. Can be done in a couple of hours so. A lot of small pieces. Item came with a missing piece, luckily was able to build without it, since the one that was missing was just a small one that didn't affect the whole overall build. Instructions are tricky in some parts so you will have to be pay close attention to it. Would give 4 stars but had to deduct 1 for the missing piece.

Surprised
Hear me out. Lego has gotten too expensive. This kit was fun to build, looks great, and the cost was well worth the roll of the dice. There was some fitment issues, but to deal beakers. It's good fun cheap kit. And i have a Johnny on my bar now.

Feels alive!!
It's johnny-5! It was easy to follow the build instructions. Do watch the colours of the bits though as some are VERY similar.
