Flows great
Love this blue one! It takes time, patience, several turning as instructions say on different sites. After apx 5 or 6 runs it/both flow beautifully. I bought this one from Amazon - the cheaper one - along with a more expensive clear-framed rectangle one in gold from Amazon. Both are wonderful. THe blue round one flows better, more consistently than the rectangle one which requires periodic light tapping. The patterns of each of them are gorgeous (that from an artist)I have now purchased 6 of these varied moving sand art “things” (3 of this blue one) and this one is our favorite! Two were other brands, $20 each, I returned due to poor color (one orange and one that showed as burgundy but was just pale pink.) The two I returned were the manual lift-up kind which was not a negative, but I find this brand with its own swivel stand functions best and doesn’t collect finger prints as the others do. The other good, successful one was a rectangle gold one w/o a swivel stand (pick-up and turn) that works beautifully, it cost $42 on Amazon. And this blue one is less than half the price!

Can I add air?
Love these sand arts, thing is one of them seems to have a little less air in it. Is there a way to add just a little more air myself, it would slow the sand down some and aid the build of mountain peaks instead of rolling hills

Too much air
This looks really cool and could work well. However, mine has too many air bubbles so the sand will not go all the way down without physically holding it in a different position to move the air bubbles. There is no way to add more water to fix it.

The enjoyment of watching the designs!!
Just watching the sand and seeing what sculpture turns out when you flip the disk!

The sand is affected by gravity
When i flip the sand, it seems to fall downwards, as if some force is acting upon it, causing it to descend. Most curious indeed. Rather interesting phenomenon to observe.
