I love this thing. It's the 3rd one I've bought recently and it does exactly what it is supposed to do... switch between two power sources blazing fast that even my most sensitive electronics don't notice. When we buy servers, I always get dual power supplies, so I didn't need this for that. I needed this for the single corded devices such as lower-end switches and firewalls where the only option for secondary power is a costly DC power backup. I now plug these devices into the ATS and problem solved for a lot less money. I docked one star for value since this device isn't cheap, although it is cheaper than the APC product.

Didnt look very hard at the amp rating, so I had to install a different socket for this PDU. Was thinking it was 30, the description was good, my reading was not. Works great, solid build.

Went a different way and returned it but very quility PDU shows amps and has all the c14 connections you would need to max out the amps

It works. Definitely not solid state – going between primary and secondary power is not instantaneous and a relatively noisy process (lots of heavy duty relays clicking). That said, all my devices have been very tolerant of the ATS switching sources and I have yet to experience any downtime as a result of power source switching. Just that you may want to factor the power switching noise in if you are using this in an A/V or bedroom setting (I am not, and I am aware that this product does not promise silent switching - just an FYI)
