This is a long, thin USB2 cable with a chromed standard USB2 A plug at one end (also known as a "full size standard USB plug"), and a USB2 B plug at the other end (also known as a "printer plug"), suitable for data at USB2 speeds. Ideal for printers, USB2 hubs, synthesisers and anything that takes a USB2-B plug. I use it for my Korg Kross 2 synthesiser and it works brilliantly.The plug housing is rugged with good strain relief. The cable itself is pretty thin, so whilst it's more than sufficient for data, it's not really designed as a charging cable; also it would snag and possibly rip the outer sheath if it got caught on a sharp edge. This is a USB2 cable so it should come as no surprise that it won't provide USB3 speeds, although it is backwards-compatible if you have A & B sockets.In terms of "put in it place and rarely ever move it", for example to connect to a printer or music keyboard on the other side of a small room, this is easy to hide behind furniture, excellent value for money and more than sufficient quality.Supplied in recyclable packaging in addition to the usual Amazon cardboard; well done.

Quite happy with the delivery time from Amazon and the quality of the print and scanning once the lengthy set-up was completed.BUT, BEWARE. The set-up instuctions supplied in the box are minimal and dire. We found we had to go online to download the manual, which wasn't stated in the bumpf that came with the printer. We also had to find an online video to walk us through its complete set-up and operations and both of us are tech savvy. On top of that was the added insult of having to pay extra for a usb cable that only costs a couple of ££.HP needs to get its act together about what should be included with the package, hence definitely no 5-star review.

Having just bought a new computer that will not be used a lot. I decided to go down the path of usb cable from computer to printer. Just couldn’t face the hassle of going WiFi, pleased to say this was just right for the job, just plugged into my MacBook then printer and first pages printed in seconds, with the added bonus of being able to buy different lengths, definitely recommend.
