I am so impressed with this filter! Let's just start with the fact that the instructions were well written by someone who is (I would guess) a native English speaker. I put the filter into a very, very murky tank. It had been murky for a long time. Within two days of installing this filter, the water really was clear. The filter is smaller and cheaper than many of the other filters I have used for big tanks, and the aeration option is nice too (the aeration does make some noise, though.) I am genuinely impressed!

I am SO pleased with this filter. I’ve had aquariums for 30+ years and this is the best filter I’ve found. Easy to assemble. Quiet. The water in the tank doesn’t evaporate as quickly as with an above water filter. This is a particular must have for eel owners. My zig zag eel was an escape artist (typical eel behavior) and would constantly swim into above water filter. That problem is now gone. Filter has been installed for a little over a month and no issues When I received this item from Amazon it was missing a couple of pieces. I reached out to the company via email and they immediate replied and sent out a replacement.

Easy to put together, you have one item that have two size options. Make sure to read the instructions. If you put all the pieces togethers it will make a 11 inch tall filter, but if you just put one of the filters you have a smaller version that it will be 8 inches tall for a smaller tank. You never will never have to change sponges again. Excellent product and very quiet. Worth the money !

UPDATE:Customer service reached out to me to inquire about what specifically was wrong with my unit. I was having issues with the propeller. A replacement filter was provided and so far working great. I appreciate the quick response as my turtle is extra messy this time of year. I will update if anything changes, though I feel fairly confident it will keep working this time.ORIGINAL:I was originally impressed with the filter. Was pretty quiet and easy to put together. I cleaned it and saw that it had caught a lot. However, it has stopped working since its first cleaning. This isn't my first filter. I try to be careful when cleaning. Not sure why it stopped working. But now my tank is dirty again so quickly and I'm filterless.

For context, I’ve had aquariums the last 15 years. Currently I have a 20 gallon aquarium with ONE goldfish. Medium size. I was tired of tetra filters and the constat expense, so I decide to get this one to avoid those expensive charcoal filters, and just have the sponge filter this one offers ( quite tiny ) and the bio balls which promised crystal clear water. None of the above happened. The water was dirty in 5 days, it turned green, the lack of charcoal in this filter was part of the problem. Which I added later independently in mesh bags ( and this alone kept the water impeccable for days ) But what I dislike the most about this filter is the UNASSEMBLE PROCESS, Is impossible, frustrating, hard to do. You almost break the parts in many attempts to unassemble in order to clean it. To top it off, two months after purchase, it stops working, out of the blue, it stops with the oxigen and I had to take it out, see what’s wrong, inmerse, repeat, unassemble, and on my 10th attempt it just started working again. I don’t like to ruin anyone’s business, but this is the last filter I would recommend out of the filters I’ve tried. Buy mesh bags, fill them with enough charcoal, rinse, inmerse, get a simple sponge filter, EASY to unassemble and VOILA! perfect clean water for up to 3 weeks.

Filters and aerates the water effectively. Filters are easy to clean and reassemble. No problems.

This filter is absolutely amazing! I was having trouble with my tank staying clear and keeping my levels where they should be. As soon as I put this filter in, my tank was crystal clear within the first hour! My tank and fish are now thriving! I would highly recommend!
