Second Keychron keyboard, not disappointed.
I’ve used a K2 v2 for a few years while working from home and the battery life is great as is the ability to switch between OSes as needed, or to go wired or Bluetooth. I bought the K2 for its smaller footprint, but recently changed my desk layout and wanted a keyboard with a little bit of expanded layout, with a more traditional key layout above the arrow keys for the insert/delete/pg up/down and home/end keys. The K8 has all the great features of the K2: os switch, wired or BT, long battery life. It is not backlit however, but that turned out to be not an issue for me. See below.I really like the aluminum body on the K8. I have the plastic body on my K2 because I went for the less expensive option of shopping from the renewed store. I was able to get the K8 new, on sale so it was even less expensive than the K2. I was worried at first about the lack of backlighting on this keyboard, but the keycaps are a light color and the letters and symbols on the keycaps are printed so sharply that the lack of backlight is never an issue. I work in a room with a lot of natural light, but even at night, I use just a small desk lamp and have no trouble seeing the keyboard at all. I am a touch-typist for most things, but I am also a coder, which means I need to find all those lovely keys that are not letters. I have had no trouble with this keyboard. The keychron quality is great and I highly recommend. The ability to switch between Mac OS and Windows/Android is a huge bonus feature. It’s probably the reason I chose the keychron k2 years ago. It comes with windows keycaps for replacing the Option and Cmd Mac OS buttons, so I put the windows keycaps on the right side of the spacebar and left the Mac keycaps on the left side in case I need to remind myself. Also, since this keyboard is not backlit, the top right key has been changed from a button for changing the “lighting mode” to a “Lock Screen” button. I can confirm this key works for both Mac OS and Windows and I use it now instead of the ‘ctrl+cmd+q’ on Mac and ‘win+l’ in windows. It’s not a huge feature, but the fact that they went to the trouble of creating that functionality shows the level of dedication keychron puts into developing and manufacturing these great keyboards. I also use the screenshot key to the right of F12 many, many times to share things with colleagues. The little extra features that keychron puts into their keyboards is why I am a fan.

Great keyboard
This is just a great keyboard. I added O-rings and it made the typing experience much better. Solid keyboard and a great price compared to many out there. The red switch is the quietest adding o-rings helps dampen the sound, but it'll still make noise if that's an issue.

Great entry level mech keyboard for the price.
I bought this a few months ago for a coding bootcamp. This isn't my first mech kb, I wanted something minimalistic to bring into the office as well as quiet. While it does have red switches, I think bringing almost any mechanical keyboard into the office is going to produce more noise than wanted.I didn't have any foam, but did have some weather stripping and the foam cover for the keyboard it came with. I modded it with both of those, and it did become quieter and more thocky creating a nicer overall typing experience. The bluetooth is a little buggy sometimes, so 4 stars. You can feel/hear a tingy plasticy rattle on some keys now again, hence the 4 stars overall. But for the price, its really a great entry level keyboard that you can mod out. I will definitely buy one of the Q models next, and with hot swappable switches. Great entry level keyboard. I really like the switch that lets you switch from mac/os, and bt/wired.Edit: Its actually not as quiet as I'd like it to be. I ended up buying a GMK87 with silent bobagum pink switches. Its 100x quieter. Though, this keyboard still feels amazing to typw on and prefer the typing experience over my custom gmk87.
