Simple SysML for Beginners: Using CATIA No Magic Products (Simple for Beginners)

This is a great reference book or can be used by a beginner.The links will save you a lot of time it contains lots of clickable links embedded in the kindle version.There is enough information in the book for you to create your first CAMEO model for practice.Great for folks who are working with CAMEO on the job or in school.The bottom line is it will save you time.

This is an excellent introductory book for SysML. It is free of pretense and to the point. The fact it focuses on No Magic is a nice plus for my use case; however, it would be almost as useful to someone doing SysML work in a different tool.As the book itself states, it provides an excellent stepping stone to more sophisticated references on SysML.

I teach SysML and MBSE at UCLA, and this is one of the texts we use for our course. The authors have put in a lot of effort creating a detailed but accessible set of exercises that will enable readers to get a working knowledge of SysML and the Cameo Systems Modeler tool (note: it goes by various names -- you may know it as something else).

Step by step instruction....will not get lost using the tool.Would recommend for beginners and people taking cert or classes.....because there are mouse clicks that seem to go by too quick, and this book does a great job at showing them all....tons and tons of screen shots.It does give the basics for modeling....which is why I would recommend someone get this book and plan to power through it as soon as you have access to Cameo/magic draw. This way one can focus on learning to model and the odd aspects of it...and not on how to click buttons.

This isn't an exhasutive howto for SysML or the specific tool but it does a great job getting you refreshed and up to speed how to take the base SysML concepts you might have learned elsewhere and putting them into practice here. Some additional background on the histroy os SysML and how the overall community of modelers have grown and evolved as well.
