Steinel Motion Detector IS 240 DUO White - 240° Coverage Indoor & Outdoor Motion Sensor w/ 12 m Range - Wall Mounted Infrared Motion Sensor

This PIR is very well designed which makes it very easy to install. It is a very solid construction so no worries on handling to attach the blinds or adjust for Lux or Time duration. The adjustments are carried out using dials with good finger grips and not the usual small screwdriver slots. After installation, great disappointment as it did not work and despite checking and re-checking the wiring, the unit appeared completely dead. Removing the unit for return I then started reading the older reviews, which I should have done initially. That revealed/suggested that the wiring colours are not as expected and the Black PIR wire is the UK LIVE MAINS INPUT and the Brown PIR wire is the switched supply to the security lights. Just switching these two wires was all that was needed to get the unit working. The Box contains an external 90 degree corner bracket, all the screws and plugs of very good quality for fitting. The 'blinds' for restricting the covered area are of superb design and ample quantity. Fitting the blinds is an easy process as with minute adjustment if necessary. As the Instruction book is monochrome, it is a good idea the write in the colours of the wires on the wiring instructions for future reference

Everything about this is very good. BUT getting access for the wiring is tricky when installing on a rendered corner as the metal angle bead will be tricky to drill through. The product needs to be rethought to allow wires to be brought in easily from the bottom and rubber grommets supplied to keep out damp

Perfect control to lighting up my garden. I thought i was goung to need two PIR sensors at either end of a passage way, however this was perfect giving a broad 270° detection area from either end of the passage way. So it saved on me needing another PIR and also less hassel to install as only need to wire up this one sensor. Item is well built and solid. Been installed for about two months now and no problems. You get what you pay for and im glad i paid that little bit more.

Works well, great coverage

Excellent PIR. This was bought to replace a 15 pound PIR which was very insensitive. Many years ago i only ever fitted Steinel PIRs and this reminded me why. It is very compact but with sufficient space for wiring etc. Great that time and lux sensors can be adjusted with fingers rather than small screwdriver. Wiring needs attention as colours take a little getting used to. My particular purchase was misssing the bezel that covers the adjustment controls, however this was replaced next day by Amazon.

Does what it claims - in my case detecting movement at night to turn on an external light. Bought to replace the same item that had broken down, so not sure that is robust long term.

Expensive but does what it is supposed to do. Been p more than a year with no problem. The expense will be justified if it lasts a few years. Mounting on a wall corner works well in my location

two purchased, installed and commissioned 28th June Working perfectly until 3rd August one has no output at all, and the other is working as specified no problem

Replaced my previous now 24yr old identical sensor who started to go haywire after a powercut. Very solid product. Hope this one will last another 25yr.

je voudrais laissé un commentaire sur ce détecteur de mouvement steinel cher mais sans comparaisons ! - très bien emballé - livraison très rapide - sous sont apparence basique on peut régler la sensibilité du déclenchement (pleine lumière ou pénombre), la durée d'éclairage ou de contact, la distance de détection, et cela sans outils particulier mais simplement en tournant des molettes placé sous le capot devant. Je voudrais simplement rajouté sans trop en faire qu'il y a aucune comparaison possible avec un premier prix .

Arrivato in un battibaleno, comprato sabato, lunedì mattina consegnato. Di queste apparecchiature ne ho installate un quantitativo discreto e non ho mai avuto problemi, parola di professionista del settore. Rispettate le condizioni di installazione e vedrete che le istruzioni non mentono in affidabilità. Prezzo onesto, ne più ne meno.
