Smooth finish and easy to lock/unlock
great pocket door hardware and perfect sizing. We weren't sure how it would work out and were pleasantly surprised. You will need to mortise the door to place this but no problem for my husband to do with the right tools. As one reviewer said, you will need a separate pull on the door edge since this lock doesn't have a door pull mechanism. No problem. Functional, but the Turn Button does not work
I might have received a faulty unit, but after installation I realized that the turn button (the part that helps you unlock the door from outside in case of emergency) is not functional. In fact, if the turn button is in a certain position, the lock can get stuck even to unlock from the inside. I tried reaching out to the seller, but the seller is apparently no longer associated with Amazon, buyer beware.

Way too hard to install
I am a skilled furniture maker - so I know how to work with wood. Making the deep about 3" mortise to house the main piece was way too difficult for most users. I did a mock-up on another piece of wood - I got it to work after about an hour. But the wood was mounted in a vise so it was still. This is not likely to be the case on the door when you or a partner try to hold it still. To make the mortise you must make a series of overlapping deep holes that are precisely centered and aligned. Then, you must chisel out the sides and bottom to get it square. There is little room for error. A contractor would not be pleased if you asked him to install this.It is otherwise a nice piece of hardware. Installing this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L5TWWCF would be much easier which goes in with standard door handle installation jigs.
