Q: Why are these so expensive? I can buy pre-filled pods for less than this.

I, too, have this question. At about 24¢ each, these don't seem to be a bargain. Okay, so one can grind their own fresh coffee and put in here. Now, your cost is as much as a regular, delicious store-bought pre-made K-Cup. I feel most people are like me, and buy refillable pods to save money. It seems possible to re-use these, and THEN, they can become a worthwhile purchase.

Q: How many in package??

There are two items, one is 48 cups and the other is a package of 288. The item you reference is for 48 cups. In my experience (5 8.0 oz bags of coffee from two different roasters) I can fill 20 cups from a bag (could be more if you don't want your coffee strong. I have used Simple Cups in the past and these are far better as far as ease of use. They are easy to fill close plus I find they result in less of a mess during the process. I initially bought the smaller package and after using them went ahead and got the larger package as it is cheaper per unit.

Q: Does it work with ge refrigerator keurig machine?

Provided Keurig has not again redesigned their cups the answer is ‘yes’. The top is soft and can work with any pattern of holes.
