Best compact reciprocating saw on the market.. period!
I've been a team "Teal" guy for years and have dozens of their 18-volt line tools. I am a carpenter by trade and use my tools daily. I've been slowly moving over to Metabo HPT because of their 18/36 volt battery compatibility and my desire for just a bit more power in some of my tools (Circular saw, Grinder), I bought this saw last Christmas on Amazon but never got around to putting it into service until today. This thing is amazing! Lightweight, ergonomic, powerful (4 speeds plus variable trigger) with low vibration. It even sports a light! AND, are you ready for this..... SOLIDLY holds the blades! I just spent the last two days abusing this unit by ripping through a dozen in-place Tripple LVL window headers that were set 3" too low on all my window openings for a new build. This is really a job for a corded recip but it would be the perfect opportunity to see if this thing had any real job site credentials... AND.....It cuts like a boss and I could swear it was corded. It also has a very consistent power band until the battery died which really blew me away. As I mentioned above, I'm a professional tradesman, and this is an exceptional cordless tool. Metabo HTP is incredibly underrated! Get it, You'll thank me.

Get it
This thing rules. Small but strong. I have a one handed dewalt recip. This is way better. Its small enough I can kind of use it one handed but I can bear down on it too. Get it. Warning: You will buy more metabo hpt.

Does the job. I
I am becoming more impressed with this new generation of Metabo cordless tools. In other reviews, I often note how "portable" battery powered tools are. This is no exception. I like not having to control and watch out for a long extension cord. The saw, of course, does not have "endless" power as does an electrical one but it is just as powerful. With careful management -- a battery charging while using a second one -- you can cut nails, metal, boards, etc. as long as you need to do so.

Fantastic tool
Upgraded from Metabo HPT's subcompact reciprocating saw to this...and it is a beast. Powerful, fast, lightweight, and compact for a saw that delivers the same performance of a full sized reciprocating saw. Buy this, you will love it.
