KONG Refillable Catnip Rat Cat Toy

My cats love these. Not so found of the lavender one though.

I'm afraid my cat/kitten wasn't impressed so sadly a waste of money for me. That said it's well made, the dogs are stolen it a few times and it's still ok. Not sure about the catnip.

Our cat usually loves catnip toys, but this one left him cold.I tried the catnip separately, and that got the usual response, so it is the toy itself he has a problem with. Either the fabric of this toy simply smells bad to him, or he finds the texture unpleasant.The toy is so cute and well-made, but he absolutely refuses to play with it. I have put it away then got it out again a couple of weeks later, sprinkled catnip actually on the toy instead of stuffing it inside, attached it to a wand etc. but he simply walks away from any of its incarnations.

My cats getting older now and doesn’t show as much interest in toys any more, he loved a Kong toy that looked like a 6 legged spider but they stopped making it! Unfortunately it seems the same is happening with this as it’s quite hard to find, so I’ll need to stock up.This comes with a tube of catnip, which you can smell straight away when you’ve filled the toy. There’s plenty of space in the rats belly to put loads in, I use the entire tube and a bit more from a tin I have so he’s nice and plump, ready for the attack. It’s the go to toy for my cat, he plays for ages with it, batting it around and pulling at the fur, the poor thing gets so battered and grubby but lasts for a good 6-8 months of being harassed.I refill the catnip every couple of months as it loses its potency and my cat never tires of his furry rat.Hope you found my review helpful

My 8 year olds first experience of proper catnip and this toy really delivered. Love the fact you can refill the catnip as I know normal catnip toys lose their smell quickly but I think our cat will be happy with ratty for a long time! Wish the toy was slight bigger and had more stuffing so you didn’t have to put so much catnip in as you don’t need much!

My cat loves this little toy and still looks like new

My cat Max was really fussing round me as soon as I started to open the box so he could obviously smell something already. The rat isn't stuffed, so I put a few cotton wool balls in with the cat nip to bulk it out. He was on my lap as I did it! As soon as I gave it to him he went nuts for it, licking. chewing and rolling around with it in his mouth and kept going for much longer than his other toys. By the time he'd had enough it was sopping wet but he was very very happy. It's now on the radiator to dry out and Max is sleeping soundly. It seems well made and the velcro seal looks secure so lets see how it lasts under sustained cat loving!Although it's a little smaller than I expected I checked dimensions and it is approx 9 cm long as they say. To be honest Max loved it so much the size is somewhat irrelevant!!

Okay very small okay for kittens not cats
