Ask my parents when the last time they changed the water filter in their LG fridge and no one could tell me it the many years they’ve had it, if it’s ever been changed. They also didn’t realized it was supposed to be changed every 6 months! 😳 I know the horror!Immediately looked up the their fridge model and the compatible filter. On the main website the discounted subscription price was much more than what I found on Amazon for and I have prime free shipping so a win is win over here! Received it really fast the next day. Installed and fit this in within a matter of seconds, it was super easy. Reset the filter and ran the water as instructed for 2.5 gallons or 5 mins (I ran ours longer for obvious reasons) I also threw away all the ice (for obvious reasons lol) and already the ice and water tastes so crisp and fresh. And I can sleep happy a night knowing my grown parent children are drinking clean filtered water.

Filters work. However if you are having trouble getting new one to go in all the way when you turn it. Which seems to happen every time lately making me dread filter replacement time and sometimes using 2 to finally get one in. This time because old one was beat up from last installment I used 1 new one and filed down the tabs that stick out. Keeping this for every future replacement. Used filed down one to realign inside piece tabs to 6 and 12 o'clock. New filter not filed went in smoothly. Saving filed one for future issues. If your old filter isn't chewed up on inside tabs you can file outer tabs and use it instead of wasting a new filter. Then keep the filed one as a tool. Now that I finally took the time to fix the problem and have a tool I won't be dreading filter replacement anymore. No leaks, good fit, good quality and price. My filter is in the door. If yours is in upper back of fridge I believe it's 3 and 6 o'clock position.
