Great value and looks professional.
I priced out custom buttons for an event but then came across this machine. The directions are easy to follow. The quality of the button is actually quite nice and looks professional. Excellent value since I can use it again and again. Plastic material is sturdy.

It works!
I volunteered to make some buttons for our Parent Teacher Club so I scoured the web for a reasonably priced button maker that would also function well enough. This is one of the lower priced units, plus it came with supplies to make 100 buttons. After reading the 1-star reviews, I was fully prepared to have troubles operating it, but the first one I attempted came out perfectly. Everything set, and the end result was great. I went on to make 10 total, and out of that, 2 failed. I’m certain it was user-error, but I’m not 100% sure what I did wrong. I did notice the metal backing sometimes stick together, and dropping them on the table allowed them to separate. It very well could be that the first one I made had two metal backings but I didn’t know it. It could also be that I simply didn’t press hard enough. Either way, a loss of 2 out of 10 was acceptable to me, given this is the first time I’ve ever used a button making machine. I would say it takes some practice to get the right feel. I’m currently trying to figure out how to align the pin correctly as it seems no matter how hard I try, it ends up crooked. Good thing I have supplies for 90 more buttons to perfect my process.

Very strong grip needed
A VERY strong grip is needed to properly clamp down the machine during the second step or the button will fall apart. Operating is not recommend for young children, the elderly, or people with chronic pain. Other than this, it's very fun and easy to use.Several of the included button backs are missing their pins which is very annoying. However, if you have wire-cutting pliers and some safety pins it's easy to replace them yourself:1. Get a safety pin that is the same length as the holes on the plastic part. Cut off the top part and discard.2. Thread the pointy end of the pin through the smaller rectangular hole.3. Then put the short, blunt end through the small middle hole. The button back should work normally now.

what to know
it’s alright, but make sure you double and even triple check that the little pieces of paper and clear seal are not stuck together in twos (example shown in second photo) it’s very easy to miss so just please make sure they are not stuck together. this is one mistake I made and I thought it was broken, but you HAVE to make sure that there is no clear paper and no normal white paper sticking together or else your buttons wont press. also note that you have to press down extremely hard to ensure the buttons are going to be made properly, especially when putting the back of the button on you have to really push the handle down super hard and sometimes listen for a noise. if you want to put a little paper or drawing on top of the white paper (such as the rainbow pin in the photo) it’s not going to seal properly, so use either an extremely thin paper or don’t put anything ontop of the white paper at all, that is if you use it. printing out a design works fine too, but make sure its from the printer or it wont press down due to the thick size of it. you probably will mess up your first or second try and it might be frustrating but don’t give up because it will end up working after awhile. thank you <3

Completely useless. Very frustrating.
My daughter had been begging me for a pin maker so we finally got one. There were alot of pieces in this package. Definitely bigger than I was expecting. But the machine wouldn’t press the pieces together to make the pin and my daughter is upset. Now I want to return this machine and amazon and UPS are giving me a hard time. Because the pin machine came very tightly packed in the Amazon recycled plastic package, it was ripped in the corners and we had to cut the Amazon packaging. Now we want to return it and had a hard time finding a box big enough to fit the pin machine package. UPS store charging us $10 for a box to fit the machine AND they told us we had to tape the box ourselves bc they will not do it and the tape costs $8. So $18 so return the machine that costs almost $50. I’ve never had this issue in the 10 years using Amazon and UPS. So instead I had to find a box at Walmart big enough to fit the pin machine to return it. I don’t recommend this particular pin machine and it looks like many others are similar to this one might have the same issue.

worth the money!
I love this machine. I have made about 100 pins on it so far and every single one has been perfect. The instructions were clear and there was a troubleshooting guide as well (which I did not need to consult). I was worried buying this because of some low reviews, but I think most of them were user error. The machine feels very sturdy, it is made of some type of plastic but it’s not flimsy or cheap. The finished buttons also feel sturdy.

Fun, sturdy button maker!
This product came with everything we needed to make buttons. It has some sample pictures you can start with, or you can make your own on the pre-cut circles. It also came with a cutter for if you want to print and cut your own. The instructions are clear, and it does require some hand dexterity to squeeze so my kids had trouble doing it on their own, but they loved making designs, and putting them on the machine to make their own personalized buttons! Great machine for the price!

Very Easy to Use and Decent final product
Very easy to use and very easy to put together.... I agree the plastic backing makes it look cheap, I guess good for kids but not reselling. The end result was decent good minus the plastic backing and you have to keep the contents thin.
