SharpStone® 3/4 Inch Silver Aluminum Pollen Press

Well machined, rods fit inside barrel tightly, slide smoothly. Works well, makes a nice tab. I use mine like this: Put a tiny dab of olive oil on the end of each rod that contacts your pollen. This keeps your pollen from sticking to the rods, your button will pop right off. Put a cap on one end of the tube, this will be the bottom. Insert one rod, olive oil up. Fill with desired quantity of pollen. Insert other rod olive oil side down. Top rod now extends above tube. Don't use other cap. Place on top of hardback book or similar and whack rod a few times with a small rubber mallet. If you hit it too hard you'll probably deform the bottom cap or the tube itself. It's all aluminum. Just be careful and experiment a little. You'll soon find the right number and strength of whacks to get your pollen compressed just like you want it. Good luck...

Mine does not have black inserts, it came with stainless ones (no issue there, just stating for clarity). Great little press once one puts some washers into the bottom (or top, matters not) to keep the inserts compressing when using smaller amounts. Produces roughly dime-sized cakes of pollen. Recommend taking the inserts out, tracing the ends onto parchment paper, cutting out the resulting circles to make "gaskets" to keep the pollen from sticking to the ends of the inserts.

Absolute junk. Is this made of metal or Swiss cheese? After becoming stuck in the device, I gently tapped on the stuck metal piece with a PLASTIC HAMMER. It terminally damaged this "'metal" to the point it no longer even fits in the sleeve. Literally used this once and now I'm throwing it away. Buyer beware.
