Veise RZ09 Smart Lock, 7-in-1 Keyless Entry with Handle Set, APP Control Fingerprint Deadbolt for Front Door, Electronic Digital Locks with Keypad, Matte Black

This is for the Veise Smart 7 in 1 fingerprint reader in the handle lock. Installation was straightforward. Online videos are helpful as they can magnify or focus on important steps such as lining up the triangles which are mentioned in the booklet. Pairing was not trouble free. It did not pair immediately but it seemed to pair right after just pressing anywhere on the exterior keypad which woke up part of the unit I guess. It was very easy to add codes and fingerprints. So far the fingerprint reader recognizes and unlocks the door within 1.5 seconds. This lock is indoors so something outside with sunlight etc.. might present a different scenario. Make sure you scan whatever print you mainly use from several directions-meaning press hard when asked, slightly adjust position of print, lift off just a bit. This is just to replicate that you will not always press or place in exactly the same way every time. The selling point for me was the location of the fingerprint reader in the lever itself. I wanted that position so that a natural one motion grab of the handle put my thumb right over the reader and did not require touching somewhere else and then turning handle. I have not invested in the G2 gateway yet. There is another widely available gateway G2 available for the TTlock app products. This gateway can be found cheaper than the G2 DDlock version but unfortunately is not compatible. However it does say the DDlock version is compatible with the TTlock products. This lock will not fit a standard cored door with deadbolt and passage. The lock is too tall and infringes on the deadbolt hole. Your only choice is to use on a passage only door or swap locations and use this lock in the typical deadbolt position and move deadbolt down. This lock requires over 6 inches from center of passage hole to center of deadbolt hole to fit. Most cored doors only have about 5.5 inches. The app is basic but gets the job done. Without the gateway it is a Bluetooth only connection and you really cannot go beyond 30 feet or so away and less with obstacles likes walls etc... All setup is done Bluetooth and so you need to be close to the lock with your tablet or phone. I am not sure of battery life yet. It requires 4AA. I am a bit worried that multiple times in and out with a short auto lock time will drain the batteries. The exterior keypad is normally off so you wake it up to enter a code. In this case I kinda wish it was a real keypad or always on somehow. I have not mastered how to wake it up yet. It seems it requires a heavy initial press at times, a couple presses at a time, so on. Still learning. Once awake it readily accepts the unlock code and works quickly. If enabled you get audio feedback for locking and unlocking along with a red and green LED for confirmation. It has 13.56mhz NFC cards included. I have not used those yet. I have purchased a more concealed keychain looking NFC token that should be compatible. However it is likely I will not need that as I will be using the fingerprint but it could come in handy. There are other options to hand out temporary codes for set schedules or times. More options with the G2 gateway. Please note that without the gateway the only remote connection for changes or even locking or unlocking is Bluetooth only and requires close range. The front keypad can lock with a press and hold of the # symbol or just use the auto lock function. The physical operation seems well made and solid. The handles are not sloppy or loose. Overall it is a bulky unit so no stealth here. The finish was acceptable without scratches or blemishes. The battery cover is black plastic while the rest is mainly a nickel satin type finish. Other models are available with a different finish. The inside lever will always open the door regardless. There is a switch inside for a passage function which will override the auto lock and pretty much just leave the door unlocked all the time until you switch it back. It does have the ability to handle either left or right hand swing doors with a fairly easy configuration step. The lock has a backup entry function should it go completely dead for some reason. There is a regular key that can be inserted into the unit from the bottom of the exterior or entry side lock mechanism. I have had to contact Veise support once for a question about the compatibility of the G2 gateway. The response was quick and to the point. I might update this review from time to time as I gain further experience with the lock.

Before purchasing this lock, if your door has both a knob or lever AND a deadbolt above it, make sure there is at least 5-1/2” between the two locks by measuring from the middle of the bottom latch to the middle of the deadbolt latch on the side of the door. If you’re like me, I hate reading instructions completely especially if they are long. To preserve your sanity, I would strongly suggest reading both instruction booklets & inserts completely, then again while installing & programming the lock. I also suggest putting all of the instructions & inserts in a plastic bag & storing it safely because you’ll need them for reference in the future. OK, now for my review. I only had this lock for a short time & didn’t buy the gateway, so I can’t review all the features. 1. If you’re replacing an existing lock with a 2-1/8” cutout, you will only need to drill one additional hole with a 3/8” drill bit. You will also need 4 FRESH size AA alkaline or lithium batteries. I would not recommend rechargables. 2. Although not shown on the website, the latch bolt is 4 way convertible so it can be used with a standard faceplate or can be converted to a drive in with the included adapters. 3. It includes an emergency key override feature in case of failure or worn batteries. I really like that they placed this under the lock so it is out of sight. It was fairly easy to install and had it up & running with no issues. Hint: Be sure the triangle on the torque blade (the square tube thingee) lines up with the triangle on the lock else it won’t work properly. Next, I downloaded the app and created an account so I could program the pass codes & other stuff. It has an amazing amount of programming features which you normally don’t find at this price point; again, just carefully follow the instructions. I also like the lever which is great for handicap access. As an FYI, there are several video’s that are helpful in showing installation and programming tips. OK, now for my gripes: The RF (radio frequency) IC cards are kind of funky but work well. It would be nice if they were a little more durable and be able to attach to a key chain or maybe redesigned as a full size credit card. I really don’t have much confidence with the attached string. Although not important, the web picture shows the override key as a Schlage style but the shape of the actual keys have a Kwikset design. If you go to a hardware store to get duplicate keys made, inform them that it is a Schlage SC1 key. I’ll update this review later if needed. Thanks for reading my stuff!

I must say that I am in very much agreement with several reviews here on amazon regarding the installation process. It has become a challenging experience for me, not because I am incapable of things, it is because of the fact that there are several things missing in the installation manual for this specific item. I tried to have it working several times before making it functional, then I had to contact the manufacturer to solve this issue. Yes, indeed their tips helped me solve the issue. The only reason I had not given up is that I purchased another variety of Veise Lock and I am very much happy with that one. Please make sure to tighten the screws of the handle selection. I attached the photos which show in the yellow circle. In addition make sure that the triangle symbol present on the base of the tailpiece is aligned with the triangle symbol on the exterior assembly. These are critical items that should be at the VERY beginning of the warnings. But the customer service is very much helpful and very responsive, that I like. My other Veise products are pretty recently purchased and I have not needed to request a warranty service yet, so I am very much hoping that Veise customer service will be there if I need a warranty or replacement in the future, that is the only thing unknown to me right now.

I ordered this door lock so my kids could each have a key fob and pin code. I absolutely love the fingerprint and auto lock features. The fingerprint recognizes me 98% of the time, very impressed because my cell phone and gun safe usually take multiple attempts. It is SO convenient to just grab the handle with one hand and never need to carry a key! And the auto lock feature means I never have to think back or worry whether whomever left last remembered to lock the door. I measured my door several times and thought this would barely fit between the window and existing deadbolt, and it was about 1/2" too big so I had to mount it upside down (could be my fault). It was very easy to reverse the hardware. Design note- the keypad looks like solid shiny black until you swipe your hand to wake up the backlighting. I think it looks discrete and sleek. (Also good for me so you can't tell my keypad is upside down, haha). The software is easy to use and set up. Keep in mind if you add a new pin code, you have to be within 6 ft of the lock to save it- you can't add them remotely (Bluetooth, not wifi). The app keeps records of which code/person accessed the door and also any failed attempts or lockouts (if you fail too many times, it disables for 5 minutes and only the app admin can unlock it). I keep can track of which kid came and went, give a temp code to an ex or neighbor or contractor if they need in. Would be convenient to keep track of teens and curfew also! I've only had it for about a month so can't comment on battery life yet.

I had to install/uninstall this like 3 times, I've no idea why the external assembly wouldn't connect properly to the internal assembly. The unlock works from inside but not from outside, I'm very hands-on in terms of locks installation but this one gave me a lot of trouble as I couldn't understand what was wrong with the installation as I followed the video/book properly. but anyways finally installed it correctly after 3 tries. I installed the lock as mentioned in the instructions and connected to the app but the lock won't unlock at all from the outside the green light is being displayed, and it says it is unlocked through the app too, and shows the green light but never opened, it is so frustrating to see that after taking my 2 hrs of time troubleshooting. I’ve uninstalled it twice and tried to see what's going on inside, I can clearly see there is an issue with the latch where it cannot latch on to it to pull it back!! Not sure if this is a manufacturing issue or something else. But it finally worked when I reinstalled everything from scratch again, I've no idea what was wrong still. I feel this product needs some product testing overall and QA'ed properly. Also, iveise.com is not working and I've no idea what their customer care # is, so beware of that. But overall, if everything works for you, and all goes well, then it might work out well, One thing we liked is how sturdy it is, both inside/outside. The fingerprint scan works perfectly, the app connection is good, and all app features are good,

This lock was easy to install even though I had to drill new holes in the door and door frame. The instructions were clear and when I did run into something I was unsure about I called Veise support at the number provided, spoke with Isabella there and got my issue resolved immediately. I downloaded the DDLock app, registered it and connected to the lock with no problems. The lock has a lot of functions but they all seem easy to use. I like that the lock comes with two keys so if the electronics ever don't work, like if the batteries run down, I will still be able to open the door.

My experience started rough—my original unit failed, and unfortunately the replacement units failed the same way as well. I was very disappointed and spent a lot of time troubleshooting. However, customer support acknowledged the situation, reviewed my case, and ultimately issued a full refund even though the original purchase was outside the warranty period. While the product didn’t work out for me, I’m leaving a positive review because the company handled the resolution professionally and fairly.

This thing is packed with features and was well priced. It's super easy to install and with the fobs, keypad, and finger Id it was the perfect fit for my home security. Now the rest of the story. It didn't fit the original door I wanted to put it on so I called the customer service number provided. It one of if not the best customer service experiences I have ever had. The lady's name was Isabella and If I wasn't retired, I would hire her away. She listened and the provided a solution that works for me. Great day!
