If you are buying this multimeter expecting Fluke standards for less than ⅒th of the money, then don't buy it. But if you are a realist who just wants a decent meter with a great level of functionality and to use on a DIY level for the car or for home use, then you can't go wrong. It has most of the functionality of the Fluke 179 just in a case that is clearly built to a much lower cost.These are great to keep in the car for emergencies, to checkout faulty electronics and electrics around the home or to check batteries, for hobbies such as modetc.el trains or model aircraft of for ham radio users.Had mine over 7 years now, it still functions perfectly, nice big display, clearly defined digits which you can read without spectacles and with a very useful bargraph to see voltage fluctuations clearly and the readings are very importantly accurate.A set of batteries will last you years and it comes with a case, test leads and a K type temperature probe to check car water or oil temperature or similar.Sadly no backlight which would have been nice but other than that, I highly recommend this Vici VC99+.I bought my Dad one too for father's day some years back and he is very happy with this model too.
