A bit softer but that only makes it easier to cut!
I am a scale model builder who remembers when you could buy bass in just about any craft store very cheaply any time you wanted. This fills the need that was left! This product seems a bit more brittle than the domestic wood of old, but this seems easier to work with anyway!!!

Perfect to make doll house furniture
My daughter begged me to turn her old doll house into a Christmas house for her elf’s on the shelf. We had some furniture but we needed to divide a room to make an extra bathroom. I know I know it’s a little much but it was something fun we did together. We made a deck, counters, tables, beds, and used it for walls. It was very smooth so no splinters and it was pretty easy to cut with a exacto knife. We didn’t quite finish all of it but there is always next year. She even took some of the extra and drew and painted some pictures on them.

This is absolute garbage
Unfortunately, by the time I used this the return window has closed. Don't waste your money on this "wood". I will say, it is 3mm, and the grain is pretty, but it is VERY bendy. It splits and cracks readily. Every sheet I have cut has had a design split along the grain. I've never had that happen with my laser. It is light as paper, no weight or heft to it at all. I am beyond disappointed. With this, you won't even get what you pay for.

WORKED WELL FOR MAKING CUTOUTS OF CARTOON CHARACTERS WITH DREMEL LITE
Happy customer. Suspect those who said this is MDF material are right. This was the only product I found that came in fairly large sizes.

Best for modeling, not products that will be handled!
I bought this for laser cutting some boxes, but on the way from cutting a piece on my workbench to the laser cutter I managed to snap the wood by just bumping into something with it. I did some stress testing on some more pieces and determined it would not be good for making things that will be handled, especially if the thing have narrow pieces that may overhang. It snaps at the natural seams between the wood fibers.Despite that it is a good looking wood, so rather than messing with shipping it back, I'm going to keep it and use it for décor pieces and such that won't be handled. The sheets are around 3.2mm (~1/8in) thick. Also be aware that they ship the product just wrapped in plastic, so its more susceptible to the top or bottom sheets becoming damaged as well as for the edges of all pieces, so don't order just one pack if you have to have 24 sheets edge to edge. The two pieces I measured came out to between 3.24 to 3.52 mm in thickens in different spot.It is very important to note that this is NOT plywood and that is most likely why people are reporting warping issues. It is made up of solid wood and solid wood warps across the width of the grain when exposed to changes in humidity level/temperature. Plywood negates a lot of the warpage by having multiple layers of wood glued together with the grain of each layer going in the opposite direction as the previous one resulting in them counteracting each others attempts to warp. If you get pressed flat, dried, and then seal it with something like clear coat, that should help prevent so much warpage.

Read carefully: This is NOT plywood
Why can't Amazon just show you what you search for? I searched for 3mm plywood for laser cutting. This is NOT plywood, it is sheets of balsa. Most of the sheets sit warped on the bed. Some of the parts are broken when the laser stops, others break when assembly laser cut projects.

Great product
Thank you, I could not find good size sheets of balsa wood anywhere else!

Good value
These sheets were easy to work with and cut with a razor knife to make dulcimer music instruments that sound great because of the balsa wood’s properties.
