ZOOM H1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder (Red)

Works flawlessly. Got an H1n instead of H1. Prefer the H1n. Lucky? It is red too. Like it a lot. Is exactly like in all the Youtube reviews. Meets my expectations. I record harmonica with it. Discovered I can hold it like a stick mic and somewhat cup it for a fantastic sound on the go. So easy to record practices, take note of a lick etc. Easier and much better quality than my Pixel 6 or Moto Stylys phones.

It’s really too bad that this model has been discontinued. It’s customizable but also has quite decent automatic settings for simple setup by non-techies. Excellent sound quality for recording music. Also works great for broadcasting acoustic instruments and vocals over video calls (e.g. Zoom concert) without needing a whole sound setup. Highly recommend.

This recorded is a fun little device that is perfect for those getting into instrumental or urban field recording. The mics are of great quality and the device is small enough to fit in a pocket. The batteries are efficient and will last a while. If you’re looking for something to record nature or quiet scenes this is not the one for you. The self noise while quiet is not for super silent recording.
