Apple iPod touch 128GB Silver (6th Generation) (Renewed)

This is the third IPod I’ve bought over the years. I wouldn’t be without one. It works easy and it sounds good. Easy to buy from Amazon as usual.

With an alluring storage hold of 128gb (which is what I wanted) I bought it. Would I buy it again? Absolutely not, the cons definitely outweigh the pros of having this ipod. Battery life being non existent is the glaring issue with this product, for what should be a portable music device to enjoy commuting to work with or traveling with or holidaying with you can scrap that because this doesn't even go a full hour..I found my ipod to be incapable of running my youtube app because it wouldn't perform the update I needed to run youtube, so it doesn't like to do updates I guess. Its quite an old ipod model so you do regress technologically as well (so no dark theme for the ipod and generally a bit slow and clunky, also can't look at what is exactly draining the battery).

Battery poor

After initially giving this a good review I am now re writing to say that after less than a year this ‘Device’Is now failing to perform due to the Battery dumping its charge virtually within minutes after being‘Charged up’ from the mains power connector. I have tried re-setting the device several times now butto no avail. I like to keep my music on separate devices, I have no desire to purchase a so-called smartphoneand be saddled with any contracts just to play music, preferring instead to download from iTunes so thisDevice seemed like the answer. If it keeps instantly Draining battery power when unplugged from the ‘Mains’ then it’s as much use as the proverbial ‘Chocolate Teapot’. I am really disappointed with this purchase and feel I’ve wasted my money. My advice would be to seriously think twice before choosingA Refurbished device.(AMENDED REVIEW 19TH JAN 2025).After I wrote the above Re-review I found out that the device was not as I thought a ‘Sealed Unit’ and I was able to get a new battery fitted by one of those small independent ‘Tech’ shops.So with this resolution to the battery issue solved I will soften my initial somewhat ‘Harsh Review’ and change my overall rating from the original one star to four stars as shown.C.Cato.

Arrived looking pristine and functioned normally for three months. Then died. Utterly, completely, totally, absolutely dead. I'm told that it's not the battery, but something to do with the motherboard and it cannot be fixed. Of course it's out of warranty, so that's £139.99 wasted. BUYER BEWARE!
