The Secret Daughter: A beautiful novel of adoption, heartbreak and a mother's love

A very moving account of one woman's earth shattering discovery that she is adopted, her quest to find her birth mother and her anger at her adoptive parents for keeping it a secret from her for 38 years. It completely turns her world upside down and at a time when she is pregnant herself with her first child.This book really gets into the skin of adoption and in this case forced adoption for underage teenagers in Australia. Kelly does a very good job of dealing with this issue in a sensitive manner. It provides a story from all angles - the viewpoint of the adopted, adoptees and birth mother. It had me gripped from start to finish and Kelly Rimmer is definitely an author to look out for.

Sorry found this book completely boring and the characters not very likeable what was very irritating was the continuous slanting of the words whenever a point was meant to be emphasised which was nearly all the time !

I could not put this book down. It is beautifully written. A heartbreaking story of forced adoption and parenthood that makes me thankful for every day I have with my daughter. As a mother myself, Kelly Rimmer reached into my core with this book and dare I say this book has made me a better mother.

Awesome book. Still only a few pages in but its already a beautifully written story that's hard to put down.
