Modified for use above water
High quality material. Snugly fits standard 7 1/2” trauma shears. As an ER doc, I've been searching for a trauma-shear holder I could clip onto my waistband, and this was easily modified to do so: I cut the extra straps off and screwed a $7 gun holster clip into the back (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010EAQUEU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Ea6IFbM920FW1). It sits snugly against my hip. The Velcro closure makes it easy for nurses to retrieve my shears and put them away when my hands are full. Everyone has asked me to make them one! To prevent fraying, melt the edges with a lighter.

Good
A little rust after first dive. Even rinsed with warm fresh water after

Good Safety Scissors
I have been meaning to buy a pair for scissors for diving so if I get caught up in fishing line I have been told it is much easier to have scissors than waving a knife around. The sheath is added bonus, I can clip that right to my BC for easy access. I have not had to use them yet but always bring them on dives. Rinse with fresh water right after diving or they will get little rust spots if they sit in salt water too long.

HUGE!
These things are big. I had hoped to attach them to my BC but they are just too large. The sheath is nice with a clip but again, just too big. I just discovered they make a smaller version.

Bottom edge does have small serrations.
Havent used yet, reporting on initial observations. One cutting edge Does have small serrations. This seems important if trying to cut a steel fishing line. Stamped metal, so I will want to sand or file the back edge of the stamping because its rough and sharp. (Not shown). Will report back after a few dives.

Does the job
Great for small cutting jobs and I like the sheath, also low cost is a plus

Lower Quality Design
I purchased these a year ago from the same company and was very happy with the product. This time, it looks as though I received a knock-off. There was no labelling on the sheath as shown in the image and the sheath is made out of a lower quality webbing. The tang on the end of the shears looks like it will wear through the sheath in no time. We'll see. The shear handles are thinner and lighter weight than what I received a year ago. Would return except that I leave for my dive trip before I could purchase a replacement. Will update if it survives the trip.

False advertising
The seller is presenting this product as good for scuba diving and it's not. After witnessing my husband's scissors, literally, falling apart with rust, I did research. Unfortunately, I had already bought mine, so now it's a waiting game to see how fast it disintegrates. I noticed in the description it states 400 series stainless steel as the composition. 400 series stainless steel is not for water use. 300 series stainless steel is. Big time marketing lie!!
