MERCUSYS TP-Link TL-SF1005D 5-Port 10-100 Mbps Desktop Ethernet Switch-Hub, Ethernet Splitter, Plug & Play

I upgraded my WiFi Hub to a newer better one provided by my service provider, but wasn't informed that as well as all the improvements it offered, that there was one less port on the back. As a result a had one less device that I could use over a wired connection, and already had an issue on this front, as some things simply work better if they are connected to the Hub via an Ethernet cable.I was looking to see if I could find some sort of two way splitter, when I saw this and some similar products. This one was the most reasonably priced of comparative products, and it works even better than I expected. Set-up is so simply, you connect to the power. Plug one Ethernet cable into this and the other into an Ethernet port at the back of your router, and you instantly have 4 additional wired connections to your router. There is no need to disconnect or connect anything to use it, devices connected to this splitter can be used in the same way as if connected directly to the Wifi Hub. I have been using it for some time now, and have not noticed any impact on speed. If none of the devices plugged into this are in use, you can switch it off (at the mains, no power switch) and use the Router normally.This is simply a great bit of inexpensive kit, that not only solved a problem, but improved the situation.

I purchased this to split a single ethernet port into two (Thanks COVID! :@). While I could have purchased a splitter, the hub allows me to add more devices in future and performs much better than a splitter.The quality of this hub is excellent. Fantastic build quality (for the price) and the speed experiences no obvious degradation from port to hub. While the hub doesn't include any CAT cables, you can purchase one for £2 or less on Amazon.In terms of operation, the input can be plugged in any port and you can use the remaining ports for output. That's literally it. It's that simple. Plug and play in its purest form!Pros:+Great price. At £6.35 it's an absolute steal!+Excellent build quality and fantastic functional performance.Cons:-Does not come with ethernet cables.Bottom line:If you're looking for a hub (switch) you can't go wrong with this. At £6.35 it is unbeatable value.

This is nice and small so easy to "hide". So far speeds seem to be good and it has enough ports whereas some models for the same number of ports are bigger. This is a great price and easy to setup, literally plug in ethernet cables and then the power cable and you're off.Thanks

I rarely bother reviewing products, but this one deserves some praise! I have two laptops (Macs) in my home office. One is for work, one is for personal use. My office is upstairs and some distance from the WiFi router and the connection can be very spotty. I have a powerline adaptor in my office, but that obviously only has one output. I wanted/needed something that could support both laptops. That's where this product comes in. It took all of a few minutes to install - you just plug it in to the mains, then connect your ethernet cables and it's ready to go! Not only does i t work flawlessly, but it has actually noticeably improved my download/upload speeds (see attached before and after pix). The before picture was just my personal laptop plugged into the powerline adaptor (the other laptop was in sleep mode). The after picture (which has greatly increased speeds!) was with BOTH laptops connected to the internet. Long story short - this is a brilliant bit of kit and I would highly recommend it to anyone needing a more reliable internet connection.

I have been using this switch constantly for YEARS in multiple different set ups. From in my loft, to my room, to my office. Now, its in a gaming man cave. Its so simple with multiple WAN / LAN slots that are interchangeable. Doesn't loose any speed on my 100MBps network.Excellent and durable.

The build quality is very good and I'm very impressed about the size of this product. It is smaller than I expected. Set up is very easy, just plug in the cables and it is ready to use. It works very well and I'm quite happy about my purchase.

If you're looking to add more to your existing router but just don't have the capacity, this is just the thing. It's incredibly straightforward to get up and running and it's very effective in its simple function.Genuinely can't fault it at this price point as TP-Link produce great products at a fair price that don't disappoint.
