Tomandwill 43VL 4/4 Size Classic Violin Case - Black

Bought to cope with the bumps and knocks of secondary school life, this case suits my daughter's needs perfectly. I wanted one that was light enough to carry around, could be carried backpack style, and padded and secure enough to protect her violin at school. The case is very lightweight and has reasonable quality "back pack" style straps with robust clips as well as a traditional side handle and extra top handle. This makes it perfect to sling on the back for hands free travel. The cover is constructed from smart looking but tough fabric with decent quality zips. There is a small locking mechanism and key that comes with the case but is fairly basic. The top part unzips to provide space for stashing a small amount of music flat in the top which is handy. The interior is lovely and of a nicer quality than I expected for the money paid. The finish is very neat and tidy, well padded, snug fit for her violin yet with good sized pocket for her accessories and shoulder rest. The bow grips are nice and secure with the ribbon strip behind. There is a complimentary spare string tube and matching dust cloth too. All in all I think you get a lot for your money with this case and worth the investment. Would purchase this make again.

We are very pleased with this case. It's smart, sturdy, light and nicely finished inside and out. All the straps and metal rings are very good quality. Only one minor observation is that the compartment for the chin rest is a bit of a snug fit and the lid doesn't quite, fully close. It still merits 5 stars, as does the company's helpful, customer service department.

My daughter has recently upgraded to a good quality violin, so protecting the instrument (and our investment) was the primary consideration. This is a really good case, well made with plenty of protective padding. There are internal compartments for the shoulder rest and rosin, and the top unzips to allow storage of a couple of music books, so everything is easily transportable for practice. The violin fits perfectly and is well protected. The bow fits well into the upper bow holders, although it is a very tight fit into the lower ones, hence the 4* rating rather than 5*. If the bow was even slightly longer it simply wouldn't fit.

Bought it for my partner as a Christmas present. It replaced a standard violin case - and has been better than expected. Loads of extra space for all those essentials, extra padding for when it falls over. Superb piece of kit.

Perfect very light case. Much lighter than my daughter's similar case for a 3/4 size fiddle. This case replaced a ~1910 case that my daughter refused to use when she progressed to the full size - she's now proud to be seen carrying her fiddle.

I would not recommend others buy this violin case. I took a gamble on what looked to be a reasonable brand on Amazon and immediately regretted it. Please consider purchasing cases from a brand that has a good reputation *outside* of amazon or your local music shop instead. The pros: * The case I received looked nice on the outside. I didn't notice any straps fraying (in reference to other commenters) but I also haven't used much it yet. * The case is a good size, and does fit my violin and two bows. The cons: * The inside of the case is lined with fabric that is oddly rough and uncomfortable to touch. This discomfort is something I notice every time I take out / put in my violin. * The velcro strap to tie down my violin neck is too loose. Moving the case results in the top of my violin shifting. Initially it was bad enough that the pegs of my violin hit the sides of the case. After pulling this strap as taut as I could without breaking it my violin still wobbles in the case, but the pegs no longer appear to hit the sides. This is not a viable long term solution and seems this a design flaw of the case itself. Overall It will do as a static storage space violin, but I personally am uncomfortable using it to transport my instrument.

Just received it today. I was so surprised that a product with so many good reviews simply did not work. The quality of the case looked good. But it was too short to hold my very standard bow (29 1/4''). I have tried both slots with all possible ways to fit the bow in the case. The only way to fit the bow in would probably be breaking it apart. Sorry to give two stars only but I have placed so much hope in this case. I have been looking for a case which can carry all my violin stuff for a long time. The product page looked so promising. Will have to return it and find another one.

Ce modèle Tomandwill est très pratique j'en suis très satisfait, ce n'est pas du haut de gamme mais à 76€ je pense que c'est un très bon rapport qualité prix. Avantages: + Etui léger en tissu. Couleur du tissu intérieur ok + Mon violon est correctement protégé et bien maintenu via un scratch + Fermeture via une fermeture éclair et un bouton additionnel + 2 sangles pour le porter sur le dos + 1 pour le porter à la main + Pochette avant zippée permettant de placer une ou deux partitions + 1 rangement intérieur permettant de placer (tout juste) mon épaulière Bonmusica qui est assez grande + 1 second rangement intérieur suffisant pour des petits accessoires (colophane, accordeur, chiffon...) + Possibilité de mettre 2 archets. Le mien tient correctement rien à redire + Tube pour cordes Inconvénient: - L'étui ne tient pas bien une fois ouvert, posé sur une table Initialement j'avais commandé un sac Rockbag dans le même style que j'ai retourné car livré avec une fermeture cassée, je ne regrette pas m'être tourné vers ce modèle de Tomandwill.

Bel étui, bien fini et globalement bien conçu. Il est léger, solide et les finitions sont tout à fait honorables. Le velours à l'intérieur est très "ras" et très doux et le violon semble bien calé. L'emplacement pour l'épaulière convient très bien. Le compartiment supplémentaire s'ouvre facilement d'une seule main, grâce à un système simple et efficace : non pas un aimant mais un élastique plat, plaqué à l'intérieur du couvercle et relié au fond du compartiment. Impec. La partie extérieure dédiée aux partitions est très logeable elle aussi. Tous les zip sont de qualité : ce sont des YKK... Juste quelques petits bémols : -quand l'étui est ouvert, il ne tient pas droit... il bascule et c'est un peu agaçant. Il faut veiller à l'ouvrir en appuyant le couvercle contre un mur. -le petit bloc de mousse capitonnée qui s'appuie sur le violon (et sert à le maintenir serré) remplit bien son rôle mais il ne semble pas très bien collé à son support. Je ne serai pas surpris qu'un jour il se détache et que je doive le recoller... -les petits ergots qui servent à maintenir le (ou les) archets on une partie pivotante qui fonctionnent bien mais qui sonnent un peu "cheap" à mon goût... c'est un plastique un peu léger au toucher et la fermeture émet un clic très creux... Certainement pas du robuste, donc. Mais vu que ce genre de dispositif n'est pas soumis à de vraies contraintes, ce n'est pas bien grave. ---------- Conclusion : je l'ai payé 73 euros. A ce tarif là c'est un super rapport qualité prix... Je ne pense pas que l'on puisse trouver mieux, et j'ai longuement comparé avant de faire cet achat. Dans cette gamme de prix, je n'ai jamais trouvé le même niveau de finition ailleurs...

Bellissima custodia! Da proprio un senso di prestigio! Morbida ma resistente con tanto spazio interno ed esterno per gli spartiti! Consigliatissima!

La custodia è bella, ben fatta e ospita il violino perfettamente. La tasca per la spalliera tuttavia è piccola (ho una Khun 4/4) per cui devo alloggiarla nella tasca più grande che tuttavia non si chiude del tutto.
