Better than Bose!
I originally ordered a Bose Soundtouch 10 at over 140 quid and it was a massive disappointment - poor bass, terrible phone app, flakey network connection and almost useless when it came to streaming music from my NAS. I sent it back and, going out on a limb, replaced it with a Roberts R1. Wow, what a difference and at only just over a third of the price of the Bose! Setup using the Undok app was flawless (unlike the Bose which was a pain in the a**e), network connection is rock-solid and playing from my NAS works very well. The sound quality is far, far superior to the Bose with excellent, controlled bass and clear treble. Bluetooth performance is also great, which is where it wipes the floor with Sonos which doesn't even have Bluetooth, so the lack of Amazon Prime Music connectivity built-in is not a huge problem as you simply stream it over Bluetooth instead.I do hope that Spotify Free is added in a future software update as suggested by another reviewer. This should happen as, late last year, Spotify modified Spotify Connect to allow use with their free service so a Premium subscription is no longer required. It needs speaker manufacturers to update their software to use it however. Fingers crossed Roberts do that ASAP.In summary, at the current price of £50 from Roberts directly or from some Amazon sellers, this is outstanding value for money. An excellent speaker which looks great and sounds fantastic...and from a British manufacturer! Very pleased with my purchase and seriously contemplating buying another.UPDATE - After several months of using my two Roberts R1 I can confirm they sound as good as ever. The Undok app can be a bit frustrating however. It will sometimes not find one or other (or both!) of my speakers. Other reviewers of the app on Google Play confirm the problem. Restarting my router sorts it out but it's a frustration all the same.Disappointingly though, rather than develop these speakers further (by adding Spotify Connect or Amazon Prime features for example) they've abandoned them altogether and no longer make them! Thanks Roberts. Thanks a lot.

Good sound and looks
The sound and looks of this smart radio are very good. I bought this with a compatible Roberts speaker and they work well together using the android app. My only difficulty was setting up the system and it took a few attempts to get the radio and speaker to 'talk' to one another.

Rubbish
Total waste of time. The undok app and sync/connect function with the r100 and rs1 is at best apphazard and unreliable. Continuously had issues connecting from spotify on my iphone, ipad and mac. Simply rubbish for something so expensive.Sounds great - but as reported, sadly not able to do what was intended so will be flogging it and but a sonos. Total rubbish!

So very disappointing, no wonder they’re discontinuing.
I bought it direct from Roberts for £49 - bargain I thought! I also bought the battery pack for £15. It’s a beautiful looking thing, heavy and feels of good quality. But the sound? I think it’s awful, I’m confused by the comments on here. It’s so tinny I can only listen to it quietly otherwise the distortion makes my ears hurt. I’ve fiddled and fiddled with the equaliser but still rubbish - Alexa Echo has a better sound. I appreciate I’m used to my B&W Zepplin which I love but didn’t expect it to be worse than the Alexa Echo. I would say it’s similar sound quality of the Amazon Dot but louder.

Requires you to buy a battery pack
3 stars because I hadn't realised optional battery unit meant I'd have to plug it in separately and I was fooled by the stock photo showing the set being used on a standalone kitchen unit. We don't have a spare socket in a place where this could be used; possibly on the floor somewhere but it does have a good length of cable if you are able to sort out a socket near a table for example. Where I thought we'd use it (on our third floor) it isn't possible as the WiFi doesn't work up there so make sure your Internet connection is suitable.I set up a Spotify account and I downloaded the relevant app fairly easily but I had assumed this was more than essentially just a speaker and in my naivety hadn't realised everything needed to be operated via my mobile phone. It's a lovely looking bit of kit but I am disappointed as I'd hoped I could also operated it from the system and not al via my mobile phone.

Amazing Bang for Buck!
I'm comparing this to a Bose sound-dock 3 & a B&W Z2 Airplay and it keeps up with both devices except its a fifth of the price. Great speaker for only spending £60, in fact im thinking of buying another one so I can have them as a stereo pair.undok software isn't brilliant however its functional - doesn't matter to me as its always connected to Alexa by Bluetooth or streaming from a PC using DLNA.

Very impressive for a small speaker. I bought a second one and linked them together.
What a fantastic radio music player. It connects effortlessly to the home wi-fi and internet radio is great and a free version of spotify. All you have to do is get the UNDOK app then you can control the system from what ever device you have the app.I liked it so much I bought another and linked them together. You can even put a usb stick in and play music from there. The sound is better than I could have hoped for very very good.
