Q: Hi can anyone advise if this would work for an 18month old?

It is quite possible this will fit your 18 month old. Please measure the circumference of your child's elbow. If the measurement is between 14 and 22 cm, NIPIT will fit for sure. We recommend a child's age to be at least 2 because it is important for the child to be somewhat motivated and to understand why the habit should stop. That said, we have had lots of success with 18 month olds.

Q: My child sucks his index and middle fingers. Would this work without driving him crazy?

Ha, great question. Of course it will - breaking a habit, any any age, is a big challenge! :) Our product is designed to help motivate and includes a calendar and stickers. Child who notice their progress often become proud of themselves and see an boost in confidence, but the first three days and nights are the most difficult for sure.

Q: Our child pulls & eats her hair, is this something that could help for this as well as the thumb sucking?

It could do- this device is designed to make it awkward/ uncomfortable for the child to put their fingers/ thumb in their mouth, so potentially could be awkward/ uncomfortable to put hair in their mouth and depending on the length of the hair, to actually reach the hair to pull it. My 8 year old has asked me to scratch her head before because she can't easily reach the top of her head wearing this on both arms. Not sure if that helps!

Q: my child bites the upper part of his hand the area between thumb and first finger.can this help me to stop his biting.?

This device stops the elbow from bending so it should do. However, it depends on whether he does it when he is asleep or awake. Also when your son does this. If he does it because he needs it to concentrate on something or he is trying to self soothe when he is upset, it might be worth looking into getting a chew toy that he can wear on his person. Perhaps there might be other reasons why he is doing this? Keep a log to see if you can identify a pattern to determine the root of the cause. I would strongly advise against wearing this device during the day as it can impede on his learning and development if worn during daytime.
