Q: Has anyone purchased a needle for this? If so, what worked?

Excellent idea 👍! Unfortunately, I don't know how to install the needles. I do enjoy the infinitive and various pictures from this moving sand art.

Q: The instructions say "Sometimes you need to adjust the air and water in quicksand picture". Do you use tap water or distilled water?

Distilled water may be better. I used tap watter with a tiny amount a dishsoap to keep the bubbles separated a little more.
