I have looked on the F3 Evoke web site and cannot see a battery compartment for this radio and none of their battery packs list the F3 either- so I cannot say the f1 battery or any other fits the F3

Q: Hi, Is it possible to use batteries to operate this unit? Or should I buy the battery pack?

Hi Dim K. Batteries do not work with this unit and you need to buy the appropriate power unit for mobile operation. You will find several suitable ones on the internet including Pure's own one (prices range from around £10 to £28 for the Pure version). Although these power packs are pricy their great feature is that when you are on mains supply they charge themselves up until fully charged (even when the radio is switched on). When you disconnect for mobile use there is no break in reception and you can get up to 13 hours of play time which for a DAB portable is far better than alternatives that use conventional AAA or AA batteries (usually not much more than an hour or so of continuous use). The Pure One Mi Series 2 is the best portable radio I have bought (vastly better than the proviso models)- compact, very easy to program and use and most important GREAT reception any place in the house or out-and-about. Highly recommend BUT you need to get a battery pack to get the most from this cracking little unit.Hope this helps....regards Graham W

Yes it is. I have the Pure Evoke Marshall DAB 1S and the E1 battery pack fits into the back.👍

Q: When a chargepak f1 is charging in a d4 how do you know that it is fully charged as there is no charging icon.

I have no experience of Chargepak f1. My Pure One Mini radio uses Chargepak B1. I know that the radio is fully charged when the battery indicator, shown in the radio's information window when charging, finally stops oscillating.
