Painting the Dream: The Shamanic Life and Art of David Chethlahe Paladin

Wonderful!
Inspirational and helpful to artists and creators on their journey, this is gem of a book about an incredible life and a beautiful soul. I loved it so much I bought another. Whether or not you resonate with his art (which is beautiful) there’s deep humility and depth in the amazing story of his life. Very grateful to have ‘randomly’ happened across this (of course there are no coincidences!) whilst looking for spiritual processes for creating art. This was much more than I anticipated and I have been bowled over by its content, as has the person I bought it for.

depth and beauty.
The life story of this man demonstrates what a shaman may have to endure in order to bring healing to others.Talk about being torn to pieces or suffering for your art, wow, david did a very thorough job.Artist, healer and shaman for our age and cultures he stands out as an exeptional human being. If i thought i could be half the man he was i would think myself fulfilled.so if you welcome change and spiritual growth, this book is a wonderful example of what is possible. He shows us what it is to really " paint " .

A comprehensive book on the art.
I collaborated with Chetlahe way back in 1978. His home and studio wre in Prescott AZ. We did many projects together and he was a joy to work with. His artwork has been influenced by other artists. And I, a 3D and graphic artist, was able to share things I knew and he to me. I really like the images chosen for the book although some of his best were in private collections and would have been great in the book.

Spirit and Art
David Chethlahe Paladin's life story and art weave an exquisitely beautiful tapestry that touches one's heart deeply. He talked about his struggles to find his path in life, and once he realized painting spiritual symbols that combine his Navajo and Caucasian heritage, his art grew in beauty and strength of spirit. You may not understand each and every symbol in each painting, but your soul resonates with the color and shapes. This book will remain in my library.

Inspiring
It's a quick read but a beautiful one. He was a very insightful human being and it shows in both word and painting.
