Arista Warrior: A Real-World Guide to Understanding Arista Switches and EOS

Thank GAD for the signed book. I can definitely relate to the wacked out feeling. Great book but deffinilty need to reread some topics multiple times. There are some great, clear illustrations as well.

I very recently joined Arista in Australia and due to all sorts of reasons, I have to wait several months to do the new hire training.No problem - I simply bought this book (kindle version) and it has helped me out considerably. I am now recommending this book to any technical person who is the slightest bit interested in Arista or Data Centre Networking.I love the laconic style and the real world examples of how to make day to day operations so easy compared to what we have been used to.Great book !

Gary has written an excellent introduction to the Arista world for those already accustomed to network administration or engineering. (If you're looking for a book to explain how OSPF works, this isn't it.) The book begins by covering Arista as a company and its product portfolio, then moves onto general Arista EOS configuration, and finishes up with review of some more advanced and unique features. Anyone coming from a Cisco background should have no trouble with the configuration as EOS is around 95% "IOS-like." Highly recommended for anyone looking to become more familiar with Arista switches.

I was actually hoping for something a bit more. I thought I would get this book while deciding if I should purchase this brand of switch. I have decided to hold off on purchasing anything for the time being. If this is the best documentation on the Arista platform, I will hold off.

Very insightful and gets your head spinning with all the possibilities. If you haven’t worked with an Arista switch then you are certainly missing out.

This is an essential guide for someone coming from a general networking background moving specifically to Arista.It's full of hands-on experimentation, made possible by running vEOS locally. It's Network Warrior, but for Arista.

Arista warrior gives great view to all of us who are familiar with Cisco and wondered what it would be like to use some different hardware but more importantly some software other than IOS. It answers the questions what's in it for me and not only why should I consider Arista but how I can use their gear better.

As a longtime Linux admin just getting into the world of Arista switches, I found this book invaluable in learning to understand and appreciate the Linux internals underlying Arista switches.

Pretty poor read, largely devoid of content so made up with unnecessary chattiness, self-deprecation and long screen prints. I appreciate that the guy is a fan, but this style reads more like an advert for Arista products than an actual technical book. There's maybe 40 pages worth of actual content.

Didn't take long to read and gives you a Cisco to Arista conversion mentality you'll need to make the switch over.

A very useful book, particularly for those with experience of Cisco and other network switch/routers but new to Arista, points up a few differences in how Arista does things, for a start!More depth on PTP (an interest of mine) would be useful, ditto scripting for those unused to Python (another book to order...) but otherwise quite concise and complete.

本書は、ARISTAのオペレーションマニュアルとしても最適ですが、最初の章はマーチャントシリコン vs カスタムASIC それぞれの長所短所を解説するなど、これからのネットワーク機器の方向性を理解する助けになります。
