I am an acoustic guitar player in my 60's. After jamming with a friend who is a real pro performer, last year, I decided (after he stuck a mic in my face) to buy a microphone and give singing a try, after a lifetime of telling myself that it wouldn't be possible. I bought a Boss VE-2 vocal pedal. I achieved enough progress that family and friends thought that I was on to something, and should keep going. The pedal was fine. Lots of features. Maybe too adjustable. But the only pedal I knew.I recently bought the Harmony Singer 2 just to try. I received it yesterday. I played around with it for a couple of hours. It is by far the better choice for me. More straight forward. The harmonies sound more natural. The vocals in general have a little more power and are much clearer than the Boss pedal. Less feedback issues. This is a great value. Takes less space on my pedalboard. Buy it!I now believe that any musician should at least give singing a real shot. Go onto your favorite guitar chord web site. Transpose the song closer to your vocal key. Don't be afraid to use a capo when needed. Give yourself at least several months to see if there is a spark there. This pedal with a quality XLR mic and an acoustic guitar might take you farther than you imagined. It's not auto tune. This is really fun and I'm excited to play more now, than ever. Singing has made me a better player. IMO a vocal pedal is a must to get you started.

After receiving a response like that .... I was happy. Item is a bit pricey, but damn well worth it. Once I had a video of myself using it, so that I could watch and listen from that perspective, it sounds just like me doing harmonies for myself in a recording. 8 different settings of harmonies being a mix of a 3rd, and 4th up, and 3rd and 4th below sure makes it nice for each song not to be the same. My ONLY issue is this, this is a foot pedal and I love it ....BUT when I need to change the harmony, I'm either going to have to bend over ( No Thanx ) or use my toe to change the dial. What they need is a 1/4 inch female jack, to be able to plug an extension cable foot switch. That way the pedal can be up on the mic stand and make changes by hand...and engage it on and off with the pedal on the floor. I intend of " customizing " mine to do this.

All that's needed to fix my device is a footswitch...My hardly ever used TC HELICON HARMONY SINGER was returned last week after languishing in one of the 5 (now 4) authorized repair facilities for nearly one year. ONE YEAR. A company called MUSIC TRIBE is supposed to provide the part and TC HELICON like MUSIC TRIBE is opaque, impossible to communicate with and 3 of the 4 remaining authorized repair facilities I contacted were dubious they could help for this simple repair for which I had the part number. One authorized repair person in particular lamented that my situation was the norm and NOT the exception in dealing with TC HELICON & MUSIC TRIBE repairs and parts. I approached a number of local NYC pedal repair persons and none could assist. TC HELICON & MUSIC TRIBE are clearly avoiding their responsibility in assisting their customers so please know that before you purchase their products/services.

Well, I hate to say this but, i wanted to love this product SO badly - and I just can't. I've messed with it for hours and I have, what I feel, is the best voicing I can get for matching my vocals and style. But, no matter how much I tweak it, it still sounds extremely tinny and unnatural. I wanted to use it for a live show coming up this Satrurday - but I can't see this pedal finding it's way into my setup. Sadly. I hope others are finding it more useful and functional than I.

This is a not-cheap investment, and I am still trying to decide the best ways to use it after 2 months of playing with it. I mostly use a Shure 58 dynamic mike, but also an AudioTechnica condensor that sounds real sweet. I am not a great singer, so I appreciate the eq and reverb that it puts in at the start. The harmonies can be adjusted in many ways up and down from my voice pitch and is controlled by reading the signal from my guitar, which is run in via the tuner output of my Dunlop volume pedal. To be honest, I am not sure that it works alot different with or without the input - but I may not be the best judge. I have used it to sing through live and also when recording into my Garage Band set up. It does sound good and it t does make me sound better. The harmonies don't come through unless I sing directly into the mike and do it loud enough. That is a bit of a plus, because sometimes I don't want the harmony. I have a feeling I will be keeping this since there is no way I am going to be buying one of the real expensive ones that are more complicated. Too many buttons.
