Great book for helping children describe their feelings
A great book . Bought for my gradaughter who’s 6 and had some medical treatment that was very difficult for her and I wanted a book about our feelings . The rhyming words she can read herself and her 3 year old sister can appreciate it to .Very good for asking “ how are you feeling today ? ‘ ‘ what colour are you today ?’ Lovely pictures that describe different emotions very well , with some fun ones too .They both love it

Fab book
This is a book about feelings for adults and children alike with stunning paintings. I bought a copy because I was already familiar with it from the past having read my bros one when he was younger and he threw his copy out. It was relevant to a dementia course I'm currently doing. I've never forgotten this book. It will stay with me for life. One of those books for keeps. You will not be disappointed. It has all the rhyme of dr Seuss.

A great resource to teach young children about emotional health
This made for a great talking point about feelings and how they can come and go but not define our personality with my nursery drama class. I like that there is more variety than my other books about colours and emotions.

Very unlike more well known Seuss work - calming for one thing!. This is a book good for starting conversations about feelings rather then directing or teaching about them directly. I'm reading it with my 3year old and the no pressure no drama style means some days she wants to talk about feelings in the book and other days she'd rather just list the animals illustrated inside - and that's perfect for us as it provokes thought and discussion rather then force feeding information.

Useful for explaining feelings to non-verbal children
This book has beautiful illustrations which capture the essence of the feeling being described. I have personally found this works especially well with children on the autistic spectrum and very young (pre-verbal) children. It does not pass judgement on feelings or describe them as positive or negative, it simply gives an idea of what effect thay have using very simple text and powerful images.

hmmm... meh
From my point of view, this is not very exciting to read but for some reason my children love it and would have me read it 20 times a day. They like the idea of assigning a colour to a mood and that's why its a five. Just because they relate to it and love it so much.

Engaging
I bought this book to read to/with my 6 year old Grandson, who has issues with how he feels. This book is really engaging and he has learned the general ideas of the colour meanings in context to how he feels. This gives us an opportunity for him to say how he feels in colours, when he can't find the words to express his emotions.

Great for starting conversations about emotions
The cover is not particularly enticing for young children. My son does not tend to choose this at book reading time when it is next to so many more exciting looking books, for this reason. That said, when we read it, my son is happy to discuss how he has been feeling and it prompts conversation about what he has done that day (when getting this info is like getting blood out of a stone usually)!
