What a "Texture-Maker"
This is a fine little roller that does the job for texturing ceilings. The main point to remember about this item, is that to use a fairly "loose" mix before applying to the ceiling. If you use a basic batch out of the pail, it will be too thick and not apply evenly. I had to get my texture to a peanut-butter like consistency, but after that this roller did the rest. You can spend hours doing it by hand. No one will stop you. However, when you are physically tired and drained, then order this roller to get the job done. Don't waste time being too cheap. This item was made for a purpose, and does Great when you use it correctly.

Worked great for large stucco patch using mortar mix-Reccommended
I needed to repair a 2x2ft section of stucco. First started with Rapid Set Stucco patch to fill the large area and laid it in level. The patch left a surface that was too smooth as compared to the surrounding stucco. I tried all kinds of approached to achieve the right textured finish. None came close. I needed a rough 3/32" bumpy surface. In desperation I bought this roller. I used wall tile mortar mix at a normal to wet consistency. I spread a very thin layer over the area to be textured with a trowel/spackle knife and then used the roller to create the texture. You will want to experiment first on a flat board to find the right mortar mix moisture consistency and roller pressure for your finish. As noted by other reviewers, using this for sanded paint will probably not work. The plastic roller loops are to big to hold paint but worked great for the mortar mix. You might be able to texture the stucco patch directly if it has not cured and you keep it wet. Highly recommended.,

This is what it says texture
Had to make sure you mix the paint and sheet rock mud to right consistency but it worked. Great product.

Used to texture ceiling
I was remodeling a room and had Styrofoam tiles glued to the ceiling with construction adhesive. after a week of scraping glue, I was fed up and got a bucket of popcorn texture ( sadly ) and this roller to cover up the glue residue. It works well, and was able to get the project done with ease. the nap holds a lot of material but the thick material means you'll be reapplying your paint/texture often.

Very messy to use
Made with hard plastic so when using make sure to mask off everything and wear gloves and long sleeves as the paint / texture will go everywhere . Easy to clean off. Easy to use , size was perfect it’s for a full size roller . I do think it could be cheaper .

Splatters everywhere
Tried to use this to texture a ceiling and all it did was splatter paint everywhere. There was more paint on the floor than the ceiling. Of corse the return window ended or else I’d return it. Not worth the $10 I paid.
